It's your favorite episode...See below! :pissed:

March 14, 2006 -- SOUL man-turned-Scientologist Isaac Hayes, the voice of Chef on Comedy Central hit "South Park" since 1997, has quit the show because of an episode that poked fun at his controversial faith.
The "Shaft" singer is apparently still steamed about an episode titled "Trapped in the Closet" that premiered last November. The show skewered Scientology and its most famous convert, Tom Cruise, who somehow ends up getting stuck in a closet and is urged to "just come out."

In a statement yesterday, Hayes said: "There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins. Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honored. As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices."

"South Park" co-creator Matt Stone fired back: "This has nothing to do with intolerance and bigotry and everything to do with the fact that Isaac Hayes is a Scientologist and that we recently featured Scientology in an episode of 'South Park.'

"In ten years and over 150 episodes of 'South Park,' Isaac never had a problem making fun of Christians, Muslims, Mormons and Jews. He got a sudden case of religious sensitivity when it was his religion featured on the show. To bring the civil rights struggle into this is just a non sequiter. Of course we will release Isaac from his contract and we wish him well."

Stone and his partner, Trey Parker, have said they avoided mocking Scientology for years because they didn't want to upset Hayes, whose rumbling baritone provides the voice for horny cook Chef on Comedy Central's highest-rated show.

Parker explained last year: "To be honest, what kept us from doing it before was Isaac Hayes. We knew he was a Scientologist and he's an awesome guy. We're like, 'Let's just avoid that for now.' "

But Stone and Parker apparently changed their minds when they learned their illusionist pal Penn Jillette had been banned from making fun of Scientology on his Showtime series, "Bulls - - t."

"Finally, we just had to tell Isaac, 'Dude, we totally love working with you, and this is nothing personal, it's just we're 'South Park,' and if we don't do this, we're belitting everything else we've ripped on,' " Parker said.

I bet Chef has a sex change operation soon and is voiced instead by David Sedaris.

Or they could replace him with a lunch lady voiced by Latifah.

Isaac is a hypocrite.

So, I hear Isaac is a Scientologist. And if you are a Scientologist, it must be okay to "make fun" of everything EXCEPT Scientology? Give me a break. :bang:

give me a break. It is a cartoon that makes funn of everyone. Remember the beady-eyed Canadians in the movie? there are many more groups they mock, but I am not a cartoon so I won't go there on this board. I think that Chef should get ran over by Tom Cruise or that other guy who played in Saturday Night Fever and Welcom Back Kotter -- I forget his name. Then, they could replace him with a Jessie Jackson or Rev Al Sharpton type. What SouthPark needs is a good preacher wrapped up in politics, big paychecks and illigetimate children.

"Blame Canada." :floor:

I haven't seen the Cruise-in-the-closet one. Will have to look for it. Does Isaac Hayes realize how much publicity he's giving them?

It is not just the Scientologists whom South Park (a comedic cartoon BTW) pokes funn at. On other episodes they have picked on Christians, Jews, Mormans, & Muslims.

I guess it is okay for Isaac "" Hayes to piss in other people's yards, but he cannot piss in his own yard. :idontno: Winer. I guess he has not been liking his paycheck as much lately.

Cover your kids ears. [ame="http://media.putfile.com/southpark-scientologist"]Here [/ame]is a clip from the Scientology episode. 😀 I must warn you though, it isn't as funny as most stuff on SoPark.

Are you kidding me?

Tom Cruise has no sense of humor
Tom Cruise got Comedy Central to cancel Wednesday night's South Park episode about Scientology by warning that he'd refuse to promote Mission Impossible 3, insiders say. Since Paramount is banking on MI3 to make money this summer, and Paramount is owned by Viacom, which also owns Comedy Central, the tactic worked. The South Park episode - which pokes fun at Scientology and shows Cruise, John Travolta and R. Kelly - was mysteriously pulled at the last minute.

Well thank goodness Tom got the episode pulled; otherwise people might start thinking Scientology was weird or something. I don't know at what point Tom became such a jackass, though it's a well known fact that short people are intrinsically evil and must be destroyed. Hey, it's right there in the Bible, right after the part where Jesus flies around around the Earth to reverse time and save Lois.

...and to think that Chef is worried about people dissing Scientology. View http://youtube.com/watch?v=ejOJkcs-a7s (part 1) and http://youtube.com/watch?v=H1CidxA8Z5U (part 2) and you will wonder if that guy has his priorities straight.

South Park -- Chef's Death. http://youtube.com/watch?v=pBfQKPAXCwo (part 3) is one heck of a way to quit the show.

Warning!!! not for the weak stomached people -- a bit of cartoon blood at the end, but that is not as bad as the Super Adventure Club's mission.
