So much sadness

There has been so much sadness this past month. Our dog passing, my sister-in-laws brother who was 45 years old was found dead in the floor of their home by his wife over a week ago . A heart attack. And now I received a phone call from my son Sunday night around 10:20. His mother-in-law was in the Walmart in Clarksville, TN with her husband and their 13 year old daughter when she all of a sudden collapsed. Paramedics were called and they worked on her 15 minutes and got her breathing again and in the ambulance and on the way to the hospital she stopped breathing again. They worked on her for an hour at the hospital trying to revive her to no avail. Dead at 42. Assumed heart attack. My son and his wife have been over there with her dad and sister since Sunday night. My son said her husband cried massive tears all night Sunday. I cannot imagine what the 13 year old is going through. So much sadness lately. Never leave things unmended between you and someone that loves you or someone you love as was the case with Kristina and her mother. She had a falling out with her mother and stepdad before her and my son moved out of their home and had not spoken to her or her stepdad or visited them in over several months, and them in the same city, and now it is too late for her to say I'm sorry to her mom, but at least my son had the adultness in him to apologize to her stepdad. You never know how long you will have someone. :(

Thanks Allifunn. It just seems like all I ever get is bad news. Even though the two deaths are not my direct family, they have affected people that are related through marriage. Just once I'd like to get news of something good happening.

So sorry LadyD. I'm sure some good news will come...
My thoughts and prayers go out to your DIL's family. 42, that's my age and quite scary.

So sorry Lady. Just try to remember that we have to go thru bad things sometimes to make us appreciate the good times. Things WILL get better even though it probably doesn't feel like it right now. Take Care.

Very sad, and scary as well. You are correct; never put off mending relationships as you never, ever know. My family tries to stay conscious of that as my husband is a police officer, and our worst fears are always in the backs of our mind. But, one doesn't have to work in a dangerous occupation for tragedy to strike, as your experiences prove.

Take care and hopefully some good news will find its way to you soon!

 Hang in there LadyDeBubba! You just made me thank my lucky stars i only have a burn on my face, and a little bit of swollen eyes, and am spozed to stay out of the sun which I love! Big whoop! I'm just lucky to be alive. (or that my contacts didn't get melted to my eyeballs:eek: ) So sorry about your sad news. Cry it out then try to keep on smilin', Lady D. Sometimes I can convince myself just by smilin' a big stupid , curious a$$ smile. Think I'll go try it out now.

My DIL isn't handling her mother's death very well. I did speak with her today. Tried saying some kind words. I am not very good at wording things. She is in total shock. I could tell by her voice she is numb with disbelief. She said it happened so fast. Then she started telling me that the last words she and her mother shared were very angry words. That broke my heart. The minister that married my son and DIL was there at the hospital when they pronounced her dead. I do not know whether my son and DIL were at the hospital when she was pronounced dead or whether they got the phone call after she passed. I am going to try and find out from my son when I can out of earshot of his father-in-law and my DIL. They were all sitting looking at pictures of her today. I think that it obviously was too early for that to occur for them. But I cannot be the one to tell them that. I am sure they realized it was too early.

This is all so sad, LadyD. You are correct that we need to mend things with people and let them know we love them. We also need to remember that we love people assuming the long-term and, in the long-term, bad words happen in relationships. Ideally, your DIL knows in her heart that they would have made amends over time. So very sad for 13 year old, too.
