Soccer Academie INTER98 - In Action

Soccer Academie INTER98 got its summer soccer competition off on the right (and left) foot this morning, as the U-10 (but soon to be U-11) Squad traveled to BAY UNITED of Panama City to play their U-10 Girls Team. While both teams are fairly developmental, INTER98's experience from this past Winter and time out on the training pitch this Summer paid immediate dividends in a 7-1 victory for Greater South Walton's Home Team!

No surprise that Helene Masone started the scoring with a first of two sublime goals, with Sterling Smith following in her footsteps with his first of two shortly after. Many of the scores were set up by great crosses into the middle by Henson "The Shadow" Bartlett. Both Elliott Gambla and Olivia Garrett, along with Sterling, were benefitted by Henson's ability to get up and back quickly on the right side. Peter Masone started the first half in goal and maintained a clean sheet until he was replaced by worthy substitute Michael Mayeux. Peter even managed to go near post on the keeper to get INTER98's final goal. Jack Barry provided yeoman's duty as the heart of the formation in the defensive-mid position, and he showed that his prospects for continued reliance in a Captain's role will be well earned.

A well played match by the INTER98 Squad, and we look forward to seeing them in some much more competitive and exciting U-12 action for a Friendly against the Navarre Vipers on Saturday, August 15th at 9:30AM at Helen McCall Park. We hope you will join us!
