Since you will not be seeing any Sunset photos from today, I thought that I would share yesterday's Sunset from the 331 bridge.
Wow, that is beautiful, SJ.

you had better go get a candle and a book, because I have a feeling that the power and or cable will not be connected when this storm passes through. ;-) Fortunately for you, the subcontractors just finished mowing all of the trees and bushes and grass, (including in the designated wetland areas), under the power lines along CR 283, but that won't help in the local hoods in your area. So which book will you be reading? Forget the movie anyway. FYI - The best movie around is the storm which we are about to witness. Open the windows and feel the power of Mother Nature.
You are psychic, SJ. The power blinked five minutes into the movie. I do have a couple of candles, and I suppose I will be finishing "Eat the Document" and starting either "Snow" or "Suite Francaise"...any recommendations for either?
As for the power of mother nature...you'll forgive me if I've witnessed enough of that for a while. ;-)

We got home just in time too. The Gulf is nuts.

It is only a little weather right now, but I am watching Ch 7 news/weather right now, and the big stuff is on the way. Looks to be halfway between Destin and Pensacola right now, and it ain't pretty. Big tornadoes are predicted to come out of this storm. I need to go to Freeport, but I think I may have to wait until another day.I do not want to be up there when this storm rolls through. The area north of the Bay always seems to get the tornadoes.
Rapunzel, hang in there girl. You can always go hang out at the library for the afternoon. There are no trees around that parking lot.[/QUOTE]
AGH! I was supposed to return my already overdue library books on my way home...too late!

So, what's the bottom line on the SoWal weather? Was there any damage?
I was on my way to a doctor appointment in north Atlanta in the awful weather (would have cancelled but I was having a health issue - after 4 hours of tests, the doctor said that everything is okay). But as I was driving up, hubby called and let me listen to the sounds at his office. First of all, sirens were blaring. A recorded announcement over the loudspeaker said, "We are under a weather emergency. Go immediately to your designated emergency areas." It was a tornado warning. I asked him to drive home and check on Pepper and the house, but they wouldn't let him leave. As soon as the warning was over, he drove home and everything was okay.
Nothing like adding a little stress to the day. Just hope our home in Seagrove is okay.

Oh, and thanks, Beachmom. Sounds like damage wasn't a problem. in the area. Maybe I'll call the rental management company to check on it tomorrow just to ease my mind.

i hate weather like that - esp. having to drive in it...It was crazy. I-85 was virtually closed down at the ATL airport due to flooding at the airport exit. It doesn't take a lot of rain to close down that exit -- I've seen it several times. The connector southbound was at a standstill because of the I-85 South problem. So I took I-75 South, I-285 West, and then I-85 South. Even avoiding that traffic problem, it took me two hours and 15 minutes to get home from Northside Hospital (normally it would take an hour less).
