That was a first! What is the worst place you have sunburned?
That was a first!
My skin was purplish underneath. Right above my knees were swollen and it was not comfortable! Nothing a day out of the sun couldn't cure though. We laid out from 8am -4pm straight everyday but that one day. I was a bronze goddess though when I got home. I ;-) would have made Audie proud.
I know, but she's not frequenting the board lately, so I think I'm safe.
young people embarrass to easily - once you hit about 40, you just don't give a hoot anymore. at least i don't....
Yep, I do agree. No need in hinding the truth, someone will find out and tell. Also, easier to laugh at yourself at this age.
this is too true ! plus i don't feel like i have to impress people anymore. not that i ever impressed anyone, but you know what i mean.
Know EXACTLY what you mean.Yep, I do agree. No need in hinding the truth, someone will find out and tell. Also, easier to laugh at yourself at this age.

Yes, extra crispy, like Fried Chicken, but without any flour. It was gross. I will always remember that.young people embarrass to easily - once you hit about 40, you just don't give a hoot anymore. at least i don't....I still get embarassed.

I recall a spring break in PCB, maybe when I was in the 10th grade, where a friend of mine (friend girl, not girlfriend) decided that she could tan better using baby oil rather than tanning oil with a SPF number. That was back when only pansies wore the spf stuff and it would be like spf 60. She sat at there all day with some of her friends. Later that night, everyone was saying that she was in pain from her sunburn. I had never seen anything like that before that incident nor since that incident. The Sun and the Baby Oil had cooked her belly area, just above her bikini bottom line, crisp.Yes, extra crispy, like Fried Chicken, but without any flour. It was gross. I will always remember that.
Needless to say I did not wear anything but a long shirt for about a week. Never again!!did anyone here tan with baby oil and iodine ?

BR! I didn't intentionally ignore your story about Jacket's ordeal...I went to get some water in the middle of my post and got detained. She can relate to your pain!
At least you can now tell her (if you are brave enough) that she is not alone in having experienced that...

those were the days, weren't they ? i had to use plain baby oil because i am allergic to iodine.
