Time for a Tropical Update:
Our partners at the US National Weather Service Tallahassee Florida are tracking the developing system in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico heading into the weekend. This system has a high chance of formation (90%) over the next two days.
Impacts for the SoWal area will likely include life-threatening surf conditions and heavy rainfall. SWFD asks for your help in educating all beach-goers and visitors to our community in sharing this message! DO NOT take a chance against the power of the Gulf of Mexico! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!
Anyone interested in Daily Surf Condition Updates should text "SAFETY" to 31279 and you will receive text messages from Visit South Walton on the latest beach flags. We will also update our social media accounts for all flag changes. Stay safe!
