I'm with ya, Steele Mama! :clap_1: I voted for all of them last week too!! I couldn't understand Katharine being in the bottom 3?? I think maybe it will be Bucky that goes after tonight. He just doesn't have enough range to his voice. I'm not a fan of the "Pickle" either but then again I don't like Jessica Simpson much. Too much of a dumb act for me.

Not so sure that Bucky will go just yet. Country music is soooooo HUGE!!! He just might make it somewhere. That little pickle girl is cute but the cute-dumb thing is really starting to bug me. I guess there are people that really are that naive.

You got me there...she is pretty cute. I keep forgetting about Ace, the cheese whiz. That scar exposing stunt last week was way over the top for me! My all time favorite is Taylor but like I've said before I don't really want him to win it all and be tied to Simon for his first album. He's way too cool to be a pop star. I did go out and buy the LaMontagne CD after last week and even though I've only listened to it a few times I really like it.

I know, I know, call me crazy, but I sort of like Bucky now. I'm not a country fan (except for Dwight Yoakam and Jimmie Dale Gilmore), but Bucky has a certain style and likeability. He seems so sincere and sweet.

Taylor must of been sooooooooooooooooo tired of picking out songs or maybe he just Loves John Denver, or maybe Kenny Rogers is NO help at all! Seriously, what was Taylor thinking singing that song. He had sooo many to choose from that would have showcased his talent. Oh well, next week is another week. I actually liked Kellie's performance. Overall what a disappointing night. They just don't go very deep when searching for songs. Surprised by the two Keith Urban hits. That was a gamble but they both did pretty well, I'm surprised to say, especially about Ace. He actually looked better last night than he has in the past and also Bucky did that song pretty well too. Wierd night!
I think I heard Paula (not Abdul) in the background yell, we love you Taylor! Of course that could have been the other million people who love him.

Well, guess who got her photo taken with Taylor last night after American Idol? And guess whose brother-in-law doesn't know how to find the photo on his camera? (We didn't bring our cameras because they weren't working well and they weren't allowed in anyway).

We had a fantastic time at American Idol last night. My sister-in-law Stacy is in the "business" in LA and worked about 3 weeks through her network to get us all tickets to be in the audience AND passes to go back stage after the show. Sooooo, there were about 50 people or so who were able to get autographs -- our kids and our niece and nephew got autographs of all the contestants left. Because there weren't many people with backstage passes, the American Idols were able to spend quite a bit of time with the few people who were there.

Ace was actually the warmest and sweetest person of all of them (all were very happy to sign autographs and even had good pens with them to do so) AND sang happy birthday to our youngest daugther because we were there for her birthday (nice present and she's not getting another birthday present from us now until she's at least 30). We have photos of Ace with the 4 kids with his huge smile (if we can find where it is on my brother-in-law's camera). Taylor saw the poster we made for him and gave the kids a little extra attention. I mentioned the Red Bar and 331 and the area and he very kindly said to say "hi" to his friends in the area. Mandisa was exceptionally sweet and giving, as was Chris. Paris was the least so (seemed to be going through the motions but my sister-in-law said it may have been because she got bad reviews from the judges and may be concerned about tonight).

Before the show started when we were in our seats we met Taylor's grandmother (she was shown on TV) because we had our Taylor sign up on our seats and she came over to us to thank us and to say he was such a nice boy. She was very sweet.

We Tivo'd the show and watched when we got back home after Thai food. You really couldn't see us at all unless you knew exactly where we were sitting and then wouldn't get a good view anyway. The theater is small. I think you could compare it in size to the Seaside Amphitheater. So, everyone has a great view. We were coached to yell and scream and clap and stand so we did. My kids were quite embarrassed to see their mom getting so thoroughly into it (I told them I was just following instructions). We saw Whoopie Goldberg, Chris Rock, and the guy who's the star in "High School Musical" (a kids' movie that my kids adore -- they know all the songs). Anyway, being there was a hoot.

What was Taylor thinking when he picked his song???? Maybe SteeleMama is right and he was bored or something. Definitely did not showcase his talent. It was a STRANGE night for AI. I actually was able to watch Ace and I enjoyed Pickler. Most of all, I loved Katharine and was glad to see Chris doing something different. I can't even begin to guess who's gonna go tonight! Paula was a little flakey again...anyone else notice?

Paula we looked for you and your signs last night! Thanks so much for the report. What a terrific experience for you and especially for your daughters. One of the great things about Idol is that it really brings parents and their preteens/teenagers together a couple of times a week, which is so hard to do. Your experience is the ultimate example of that -- a memory all of you will cherish.

Definitely give me the details! I want to hear all about it, and then I'll forward them on to Mr. Pod! He's neck-deep in baseball images lately; he got the contract to do all the art in the Hilton, so they are totally swamped trying to meet deadline.
