Back from another great trip to my favorite beach. Unfortunately, this year's gathering was marred by a terrible cold that went through our group....but, hey, we were sick at the beach. Many highlights....finally got to eat at the Red Bar and it is fantastic. We stayed in a nearby house and got to sample breakfast, lunch and dinner fare and it was wonderful. Also spent a peaceful night at Hibiscus and was able to purchase Hibiscus treats at the Seaside yard sale, again, fantastic. Bought a delicious carrot cake from Loloba's...so good. Next year think we'll try the chocolate. On the down side, only manage one trip to the sand. My legs would not cooperate for another try at the sand. I was fearing I would spend the remainder of my trip sitting in my beach chair, unable to return to our house, when a deputy drove up in his truck. We were able to wave him down and my family explained the situation. The deputy immediately offered assistance. So kind and gracious. In fact, kind and gracious are the words that describe most of the sowal community.
I felt the loss of access to the beach, but that is a function of my situation...I will adapt. But, hey, if anyone down there offers a beach taxi service, let me know!!! My group was very disappointed that although our rental had advertised it had internet access...it did not. That is annoying for a facility to advertise ammenties it does not provide. but you learn. See you next year sowal and THANKS
