A good start would have been 20 weeks severance pay along with accrued vacation and sick pay would be a good start. He was about to be fired! and someone made him a sweetheart deal? My butt feels sore.

What I read is he wanted to give someone a raise. She said no. He did it anyway. She was going to fire him.

If he had been fired without cause he would have received the severance package as well. The only way to avoid that would require termination with cause. With the way the BCC policies are written, is is not clear if "with cause" is possible because the Chairman of the Board approved the raise in question.

Can we get back to the garbage issues?

Actually, Walton County charges a 1 cent sales tax for the garbage we receive. I think in the past the BCC has been able to use some of the those excess funds for other project not related to waste management. WCTA association may have a better understanding of that.
