The Grayton Beach Community Center is located at the junction of Hotz Avenue and DeFuniak Street. It is in the design stage and once completed, the 1600 +/- square foot building will house a local information station, restrooms, observation deck, and access to the transit shuttle to the parking lot - see below. Work is anticipated to being Spring 2023 and be completed by Spring 2024.

Grayton Beach Municipal Parking Facility, formerly referred to as the “Grayton Central” parking lot, is 7 acres and is located on the eastern portion of County Road 283 South, across from the Shops of Grayton. Currently in the final design and permitting stage, plans call for the facility to have 118 +/- parking spaces, dedicated ADA, electric car, low speed vehicle and bicycle parking areas, restroom, public transportantion facilities and connectivity to the multi-use path. Construction is expected to begin early Winter 2022 and be completed by Summer 2023.

Right behind the current tram stop.

It is currently in the design/permitting stage and once completed, the 1,600 +/- square foot building will house a local information station, restrooms, observation deck, a boardwalk to the beach and access to our transit shuttle.

Work is anticipated to begin in Fall 2023 and be completed by Summer 2024.

This will be a great addition to Grayton, especially with all the folks they are bussing in and out now. Can't wait to see the finished project.

I am not in favor of replacing dunes with a toilet.
Where do you think all of those folks they truck in have been going to the bathroom? Plus, the parcel that the bathroom is going on is directly on Hotz, right near Defuniak. If not a bathroom, it would have been a monster house or commercial.

They should hold it. lol

There are places to build a bathroom already without killing dunes.

Besides the businesses have bathrooms and need foot traffic.

STATUS: Construction began in May 2025 and is expected to be completed in May 2026.


  • Hotz Avenue is scheduled to be closed Nov. 3-25 and Dec. 1-23 for completion of the pedestrian plazas and paving. Residents in the alleyway between DeFuniak Street and Garfield Street will use an alternate route to reach their homes. Please see the map below for directions.
  • The west side beach access drive will be closed Dec. 4-17 for construction of the roundabout area. Beach goers will need to use the east side beach access to reach Grayton Beach.
  • DeFuniak Street will be down to a single lane for resurfacing Dec. 18-23.
  • During construction of these areas, the Walton County Beach Tram will have an alternate route. See the map below for details.
