The Party of NO

Beach Fanatic

Congressional Republicans are holding fast to their role as the party of NO. After their failure to act on Health Care, they are fighting like their Country Club memberships were at stake, to prevent any meaningful action on the Health Care Reform bill now before Congress. After refusing to be a part of the process and progress of the Bill, they are now in a snit claiming they don't know what's in the bill. I am so tired of immature, adolescent men dominating our legislative branch of government....:bang:

I'd be willing to bet that many Democrats don't know what's in the bill either.

Republiicans passively ensured their ignorance. Democrats were the process. If not for them, we would remain in ther hangman's noose of inactivity. Need I remind you of how long this need has been the focus of inactivity? :idontno:

Are you saying you do not believe we need government? :idontno:

What she is saying is you haven't a clue about what you are talking about and are insisting on blaming one party for all our ills when our TOTAL Congress is in shambles. Read what is needed for real health reform as posted in the many threads on this forum and then you'll be up to speed on where the real need of healthcare reform is located and how it can be achieved.

The issue has just became moot. Sen. Ben Nelson (D) Neb. has announced he will vote for the Senate healthcare reform bill, thus sending it to conference committee between the House and the Senate. It is my firm hope you all enjoy what you are about to get.
A bill which hasn't been seen, hasn't been read and one which no one except Harry Reid and his compatriots know what is contained in the bill.

mmmm, NO.

But I believe the speed at which the wheels of government turn is determined by how much money the special interests are going to give out.

When the government feels they've tapped all the big money, then they might decide on something. It isn't over because they don't want it to be over.

I for one see improvement in the Republicans and even in some Democrats as demonstrated by their just saying NO to bad laws and deficit spending. The reason Republicans lost the confidence of the citizens was the abandonment of their core principles. Going back to them is the first step. Now the party must take the 2nd step and introduce a plan that revives the economy and reforms healthcare without allowing defcits to grow and government control of our lives to increase.

I guess the threats, payoffs and intimidation finally worked. I sincerely hope that the people of Nebraska show Mr. Nelson that his job security is more about them and less about Obama

Democratic leaders also offered Nelson a deal similar to the $300 million in Medicaid assistance Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana got for her support, numerous sources told Fox News.

I find it sad that the ordinary citizen boo birds from each party are doing exactly what they claim to be so frustrated about by their elected representatives - calling names and acting like children, doing nothing constructive and thus being part of the problem instead of the solution. This has been going on for decades while the wealth, life, and spirit of our nation is being sucked dry by corporate vampires. Vampires who own the political machine.

It is so transparent that the folks on this forum attacking each other have no mind of their own (cue the outrage) and are re-spewing the manure they are told, so easily manipulated by political spin masters. And don't blame the media for swallowing the garbage fed them by the political machine and then crapping it out into the trough if you are lined up at that trough gobbling it down.

The ultimate irony is that these fools regurgitating the crap think they are the enlightened ones because they are part of the media charade. The same media that is telling them they are the smart ones for listening to them.

Bottom line - our educational system has failed us because that is ultimately what the corporations and their power-hungry political lackeys want. America has become ignorant cattle so easily manipulated and hoodwinked. This is what you should be outraged about.

Let see, the democrats are trying to pass a bill that:

1) forces every american under threat of punishment into purchasing something from private industry.
2) places the entire middle class on a medical form of welfare.
3) expands entitlements that currently threaten the financial stability of every state and the federal government.
4) balloons the current federal budget.
5) provides very little actual reform in an industry that seriously needs it.

..and you're complaining about... the republicans?

This is a bad bill. It is nothing but a stimulus bill for insurance companies. I am 100% in favor of healthcare reform, but this is not it.

A paycheck deposited Friday PM in Peoples Bank was available at the ATM Saturday AM.

Just one example of a benefical goverment program.

Exactly how is this a "beneficial government program" because it sounds like a good business practice of People's Bank to me.:idontno:

Regulators shut down Peoples First bank | pnj.com | Pensacola News Journal

Peoples First Community Bank was shut down Friday by federal regulators after struggling for more than a year against mounting financial losses.

Peoples First is based in Panama City and has three branches in Pensacola, one in Gulf Breeze and one in Pace. Before several branch closures this year, the bank had 33 locations stretching from the Panhandle to Orlando.

The remaining 29 branches of Peoples First will reopen during normal business hours today as branches of Hancock Bank, according to a press release by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which is orchestrating the takeover.

FDIC would have kicked in, but if receivorship in FL is similar to GA, when a bank is being 'taken,' the banking division acts as a liaison for another institution to take over the assets and have no break in service.

All deposits at Peoples First were insured (generally 250K) by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation-a beneficial goverment program.

Prior to FDIC insurance those same deposits would have been unavailable and probably gone for good. Check out It's a Wonderful Life. It is Christmas time and you can get a glimpse of life without federally insuraed bank deposits.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

When the government feels they've tapped all the big money, then they might decide on something. It isn't over because they don't want it to be over.

The speed at which government moves isn't because of special interests; it was designed that way. The framers wanted to prevent the swift action of a few. I am glad that this debate concerning an issue that will affect every American is taking the time it is. What I wish was happening is that every Congressman/woman would be able to go over the bill and discuss it intellegently, and that it would be available for the public to view.
