Our management company sends us a check every month we have rental income, usually well within two weeks of the month's end. Our September payment hasn't come yet. When I checked at the office last week when we were at our condo, I was assured that the check was mailed and it would be waiting for us when we got home. Well, there's no check. What's the best thing to do? Wait a few more days? Ask them to call the bank to see if anyone else has cashed it? Ask for a stop payment (in which case, who pays the fee, which runs $20-30)? Ask them to write a new one with the understanding that if the original turns up, we'll destroy it? I have so say I'm a little irritated about this. I called the office yesterday and they insisted they mailed the check and today no one is in the office to take my call. I'm getting antsy!
