"The Washaway" finally got washed away!

After standing on the edge of the Gulf for 127 years, and surviving all that nature could throw at it. In the end the venerable old building could not survive developers greed.
They bought it in 2019 for 1.5 mil. now it is for sale at 11.4 mil. I am sure the ultra rich new owners will delight in telling their friends, "see that board over there, it is part of the original house"! I wonder if they kept the closet with the graffiti the "coasties" left, no mention of that in the listing. It is sad to see such an iconic part of Grayton beach's history TOTALLY washed away!

We have fond memories of staying at the Washaway with lots of family. Not a single fancy thing about it. But perfect.

Things do change. Even in Grayton Beach.
