I, personally, like outdoor showers in the dead of winter. You're encapsulated in a cocoon of steamy water... uh, I think I rambled off-thread...

hahaha. we did winter time things we like several months ago, remember? some of us had long lists. most just wanted winter to end (especially last winter). this is DD's favorite summer thread!

summer time lists are so different from winter. I guess its what makes life so interesting all year long, year after year.

I would rather have a hard freeze right now than deal with the onslaught of these yellow flies. but they shouldn't last too much longer. I hope.

but there are many things I do love about summer. let's keep 'em coming.

Love a long tall glass of cold sweet tea in the summer time.

I do remember. I also remember that we had snow here in Texas just a little over two months ago and Sunday they are predicting 106 here. Now, that might be a tad hot, even for me, but I WILL NOT complain. 😀

Flowers blooming.

the traffic on 30A sucked today - tons of cars slowed to a crawl by people looking, texting, not knowing where they were going, seeing the sights, etc... people crossing 30A on bikes and on foot on or near a random crosswalk in the middle of nowhere that drivers do not even notice - there are no instructions for them whatsoever.. pedestrians and bikers are assuming traffic is going to stop and people are slamming on brakes giving me a heart attack... i try not to get impatient because I guess i do those things (except texting while driving) while visiting other places. not my favorite thing about summer. but whattayagonnado? all I can do is try to remember to leave the house 20 minutes earlier than usual if I need to be somewhere.

sorry, that was kind of a negative summer item.

For me it is all about sitting under an umbrella while drinking a beer and eating cheez-its with sand on them.

Hearing the drag on my fishing reel zinging.

Getting blasted by sand from the lady popping her towel upwind from me.

YA MAN! I had a Haviana emergency yesterday and had to run into Old Florida Outfitters in Watercolor for a quick flip-flop fix. Of course, I then had to buy a new Horny Toad dress there to go with my Havianas!!!
Ah, summer...loving the new summer wardrobe requirements!

Gelato, it's good all year long but better in the summer. Yesterday I was up at 6:30 to walk 5 miles then to the gym to lift weights then 4 hours of girl time at the pool with my cousin then home for a nap and a shower and aloe vera! Off to dinner at Central Market for a fresh sandwich and then a gelato-what a perfect day!

Today I was up at 6:30, walked 6 miles and the sun just burned thru the clouds and I'm trying to figure out if I can put on enough sunblock on my burnt shoulder, neck and ear to go back to the pool for a repeat of yesterday!!!

PS, did pretty much the same thing on Friday but with a dinner of Chickfila!

We are seeing more fire flies/lightening bugs than usual this year. I had read that they are particularly sensitive to loss of habitat and pesticides. We mow as little as possible and only use wasp spray to keep them at bay. (Big year for wasps!)
