For a buck a shirt, I take all 3 of ours to the cleaners!! However, I actually don't mind ironing. I find it sort of theraputic. I believe the order is: collar, yoke, sleeves, body.
...another winner! That is what I thought!!! Do you do the back of the body first? Man, all this talk of ironing makes me what to...go have a cigarette! Kitty, I started to say earlier--not only is there an order, but there are accompanying accessories! ^5
Mango, I promise I am not trying to dethrone you, but I think you should know I once got a job in great part to the fact that I was perfectly pressed on the interview day. My boss later confessed!

My problem is about to be solved - the name of this particular cleaners, JR? Can't be too far away seeing how close I live to you!Well, it might be a little further than you'd like. I go to Westgate Cleaners in that little crappy strip center on the corner of Campbell and Wilke in AH. I've tried others closer to home, by the Jewel & on S. A.H Rd. They all charged more and also charged more if they thought it was a female shirt!!! I said No Way. It's still a shirt, no ruffles and stuff.
Most excellent. You get an A+. :clap_1: You do an extreme ironist proud.Heeeeeyyyyy - I learned it from Martha Stewart & my southern momma!;-)
Yes, that's the book order for amateurs.:nono1: That is not how I do it though. I start with the body, sleeves do not always necessarily have to be ironed on both sides if you do it right, and the collar is last. Depends on the size of the shirt if have to do the yoke, and then I do that after the sleeve is down because you could get a crease if you do the yoke first and then the yokes on you. ;-)
I have
Mango's motto: Have iron will travel.![]()
I iron collar, cuffs, sleeves then body...is this wrong?![]()

Anyway, Westgate is the best and it might actually be $1.05 each.

Toots, between you, me and ThirtyAGal we almost make a complete bionic wench. OK, who has had their knees done?

Right by the Walgreen's? A little out of the way, but not that bad. I'm more than willing to travel an extra mile or two if a business comes highly recommended. There are several right by me near Golf & Elmhurst and none of them have wowed me. Thanks so much for the recommendation!Yes, by Walgreen's. They are a sweet couple but don't try to talk to them! They can't speak a word of English. They just smile and say "sure" a lot!

It does have a decent anti-calc feature if you have hard water, but if you decide to go buy a more expensive model, using distilled water prolongs the life of your iron.Whatchu talkin' about, Willis? Am I to understand there are folks who use tap water in their irons...?! Mango, get the smelling salts.

Oh, the Rowentas are so nice, but I've never been able to bring myself to splurge. I'll check out the ones you mentioned, though, and the Amazon sale.
I have a cheap one, ($20 or so) in SoWal, (actually 2
) and it works grayt. I have a tendency to knock my irons down by accident because I am clutz, so I am still hesitant to buy a more expensive model myself for home, but one can dream.

I just returned from Toot's house to see how she is doing.
She is looking well, but I did mention that she could use a pedicure.....
