Traffic Signal Coming to MC Davis Blvd and US98

INTRODUCTION: Sealed bids for the M.C. DAVIS, CR 283, AND CR 83 COMBINED SIGNALIZATION PROJECT will be received by the Board of County Commissioners, Walton County, Florida, hereinafter referred to as "County" at the address shown below:

Bids will be received until 3:30 P.M. LOCAL TIME on November 9th, 2022 and will be opened immediately thereafter.

SCOPE OF WORK: The subject work consists of three projects under one Contract. The intent of the work is to install new mast arm traffic signals, widen roadway approaches to the intersections and mill and resurface, modify walkways, and construct new signing and marking at the following three intersections: County Road (CR) 283 at CR 30A, CR 83 at 30A, and MC Davis Blvd. at US 98 (SR 30). FDOT Permit 2020-A-390-00002 applies to the MC Davis project.

Such a dangerous situation there. Very hard to get in and out. Traffic backed up on the shoulder for 1/4 mile.

How does a school, sports park, gas station, office building, and an apartment complex get approved before a light?

Also need to add a "turn signal" at the traffic light at 98 & Watersound?!? Right now, it's safer to turn on to 98 and make a u-turn

That's true in a few places. Which is great when there's a dedicated uturn lane.

Planners didn't assume that 90% of the school population would be dropped off and picked up individually by cars.

We could solve 50% or better of our traffic issues if people would put their DAMN phones down!
