For those of you nervous about stomaching Brokeback Mountain...give Transamerica a whirl.

Whoa momma. Intense. Felicity Huffman is amazing though.

I don't know where all it's being released, but we had to go to the IFC theatre to see it.

i have read that this is an awesome movie, i think lots of critics liked it. supposedly felicity huffman may get an oscar nod for this - what do you think ?

Oh yeah. She was amazing. It was a little eerie watching her like that- but she was like Charlize in Monster...if not better. I think someone needs to recognize her performance in this movie.

i could not believe charlize in monster. even tho i hated the movie ( i found it to be too sympathetic to a cold-blooded killer ), she was wonderful. and i really am amazed they could take one of the most absolutely beautiful women in the world and make her so god-awful butt ugly !

That movie just disturbed me - I'm sure that's an indication of how good Charlize's performance was. But suffice it to say, it's definitely not one of those movies I can watch over and over. Once was enough.

me too. she was very good, but i think what bothered me was i felt the movie made it out to be poor aileen, she had a bad childhood, she couldn't help it, she didn't know any better, blah blah blah. i didn't feel she did anything in self-defense, and lots of people have terrible childhoods, but they choose to take a different path. she didn't and look what it got her. and now i am climbing down off my soapbox ! ;-)
