I'm surprised nobody has chimed in on this seeing how it happened in our backyard...
"A woman has filed a complaint with federal authorities over how her elderly mother was treated at Northwest Florida Regional Airport last weekend.
Jean Weber of Destin filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security after her 95-year-old mother was detained and extensively searched last Saturday while trying to board a plane to fly to Michigan to be with family members during the final stages of her battle with leukemia."

I saw it, but didn't realize it was at VPS.
I'm actually more upset that she didn't have another diaper for her mother. Regardless of the TSA's actions (which seem courteous and rather reasonable given that there was a reason for the additional screening), the poor woman was going to have to wear that soiled diaper for several more hours!
Per CNN, the mom was fine with it (just upset that she had to fly sans undergarment - IMO due to her daughter's major lack of planning) and the reason for the extra patdown and diaper removal request was because they felt something suspicious on her leg during the initial pat down and the soiled diaper hampered them from patting her down.

I'm totally with you on the lack of a spare undergarment. I get why the TSA did what they did despite thinking it's silly to pat down a 95 year old. I don't get how her daughter could possibly think that not having a spare was remotely a good idea. Poor planning to be sure!
