Right on! Though its only speculation, it brings to light the fact that drugs are a part of the SoWal scene, much as we may dislike it.

Here4Good

I must note that our new Sheriff is already way out in front of providing information to the public on this event - I am very happy to see that. This is the first big crime of his term, and I am hopeful that we will see that we put the right man in office.

Why is the first assumption drugs? My money is on a person with emotional problems or pushed over the edge by loss of job, family. or faculties. It is now 3 wounded.

Edit: Not many 60 year-olds dealing drugs.

Is this the same guy who got in trouble during the election for threatening candidates? I know there was a trigger happy/mentally questionable guy who was a regular at Republican Headquarters and made several people VERY uncomfortable w/ his creepiness/wack-a-doo factor.

Not only is that not funny, it's also a bit insensitive. Not cool.

From what I read it seems more like a racial thing against Hispanics to me.

Here's the latest. This is truly awful.

NWF site is updated with the identities of the victims. I am guessing this one is going to get national news coverage.

"
Javiera Herrera, a reporter for a Chilean international newspaper, La Tercera in Santiago, said Corp was a student at Universidad T?cnica Federico Santa Maria and was from Valparaiso, Chile. He graduated high School from Sacred Heart where his mother is a secretary. Herrara also said Corp was "one of the best basketball players in the region" and an engineering student.
More than 300 people lit candles in his memory Thursday at the school after hearing the news of his death.

Balbontin was a student at the University of Valparaiso and worked as a model, Herrera said. She was studying tourism and had arrived in the United States in December for a six-month stay. Herrara said she was studying tourism and was in her last year of school. She and her boyfriend, victim Francisco Cofre, were to be married sometime after they returned to Chile."

This doesn't bode well for people expecting international visitors. I'll bet SanDestin hires more locals this year.
Two people are dead and two are injured after a man shot them and barricaded himself inside his Summer Lake townhome in Miramar Beach, according to information from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
My speculation is either domestic violence or drug dealing gone bad. (Where better to spend a couple days working on a big deal than a vacation area where there is no such thing as normal coming and going for a given residence?)
