We have a condo in Seagrove Beach. We want to leave a vehicle down there permanently, but it is currently registered in another state. Is it possible to register a car in Florida without being a permanent resident?

Yep. I think all you have to have is a FL address and FL insurance.

Yes, you can register a vehicle in Florida as a non-permanent resident, such as a part-time homeowner or snowbird in Seagrove Beach.

Requirements for Non-Resident Registration
To register the car through the Walton County Tax Collector office (which handles Seagrove Beach), you must provide specific documents:
    • Proof of Florida Insurance: You must purchase a valid Florida auto insurance policy covering the vehicle. Out-of-state insurance policies are not accepted.
    • Vehicle Title: The current vehicle title. If a lienholder holds the title, you will need a copy of the title or registration documents along with lienholder info.
    • VIN Verification: Florida requires a physical inspection of the vehicle identification number (VIN) for vehicles previously registered out-of-state. This can be done at the tax collector's office or verified using a form signed by a law enforcement officer or notary.
    • Identification: A valid U.S. driver's license, state ID, or passport for all owners.

Man I love this forum! Real people with real discussions and real info without 50 snarky comments about why people should never move to Florida, should never own a car, should do this or that yada yada yada.
