SWFD News: VOTE FOR SWFD STATION 2 IN PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS!

WATERCOLOR, Fla. --- Cast your vote! South Walton Fire District’s WaterColor Fire Station is one of 28 public safety buildings in the running for a statewide People’s Choice Award in architecture.

The 10th Annual Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Florida) People’s Choice Awards Competition is celebrating the architecture that keeps the state of Florida safe by dedicating this year’s competition to public safety and first responders.

Online voting is open to the public here: Start Voting for Your Favorite Florida Architecture!.

“This is a unique opportunity for our community to learn more about the design of fire stations around the state,” said SWFD Fire Chief Ryan Crawford. “Our WaterColor Fire Station was built in 2004 and designed by DAG architects. To this day, the station stands out in the WaterColor area as a centerpiece of the community, and we are incredibly proud of our men and women who uphold its reputation each day. We hope you will consider voting for SWFD this year.”

Voting will close at 10:59 p.m. C.T. on Friday, July 28 and there is no limit to the number of votes any one person can cast.

The winner of the competition will be announced during the 2023 AIA Florida Design and Honors Awards in Orlando.

SWFD would like to encourage the community to join the agency in celebrating public safety architecture and vote for its local WaterColor Fire Station.
