WaterColor Director of Security

CCMC currently has a full-time Director of Security position at WaterColor in Santa Rosa Beach, FL!

The Director of Security will be responsible for management of a contracted security work force and shall report to the Community Manager. Primary goals are to meet the needs of our Board of Directors and residents, preserve and enhance property values and ensure the general safety of the community.

The Director of Security should possess a working knowledge of the WaterColor Community Association and its Design Guidelines, the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs) and all Policies and Procedures. This position will oversee physical safety and security of facilities/property and people; lead a team of security personnel and ensure that the security staff is adequately equipped and trained. They will also develop training plans and ensure the contracted security agency maintains security training records; assist with implementation and maintain a physical security (security risk management) plan for the community; oversee and report on security checks/ surveillance/monitoring; and authorize and ensure that access to the community is controlled and protocols are followed.

In addition, this position is responsible for preparing and submitting a monthly Security Report for the Community Manager; attending Board, Committee and other various meetings as necessary and generating reports and findings as required; ensuring our security partner is adhering and performing to their contractual obligations to WaterColor; assisting in the preparation of the annual budget for security and directing security staff on inspection of property maintenance or safety concerns and reporting repairs needed to the Maintenance Supervisor for final disposition; training for guards to ensure the highest level of customer service; recording and investigating reports of safety or violation issues and review daily incident reports and inform the Community Manager of relevant issues as well as networking with neighboring communities on issues of common concern; seeking out solutions and think outside the box to improve the level of service, streamline operations and improve productivity

Qualified applicants will have a minimum five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in HOA/Resort security and/or management a plus; strong people skills and an assertive, professional and poised disposition; communicate effectively both orally and in writing, establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and residents, and maintain confidentiality; provide exceptional customer service; demonstrate a can-do attitude; focus on results; interpret, implement and oversee adherence to company standards and applicable laws; be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Windows; have a valid driver’s license and current vehicle liability insurance.

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, particularly high-heat and humidity; may be required to lift and move up to 25 lbs. This position is on call 24/7 and, in the event of an emergency, will provide on-site response and respond 24/7 to investigate extensive property damage or personal injury incidents within the community.
