WE need ideas on where to go, we're coming down Dec. 7-9th

hi everyone! we're moving down jan. 5th from Missouri, and my husband and i are flying in dec. 7th-9th, just to have a fun few days together, check out the area, and see a few long term rentals. Were should we go??? (i know it will be a sun. and monday night, so probably not much going on) but please suggest a fun restaurant/bar/place to hang out and meet a few people to give us some ideas about living there. We're so excited and have vacationed there before, so we know a little about destin but would love some locals input on other areas like seaside, etc. thanks!!! we have almost 3 full days so we should be able to cover lots of ground with out the kids!

Red Bar in Grayton Beach for great fun and food in evening.
Tarpon Club at Bud and Alleys in Seaside for sunset fun.
Sunday brunch at Santa Rosa Beach Club is the best IMO

Yes they are and do a great breakfast also if you are in the neighborhood. FYI Red Bar takes cash and checks only but has an ATM on property.

Not to play brunch wars but if the weathers good and you want to sit outside go to Fire in Grayton Beach for Sunday Brunch
Naturally they have inside seating too :rolling:

Tough days for entertainment though.

Sallys Backside for the Steenos on Mondays -- Behind the gas station in Blue Mountain Bch

Also there are some long term rentals right there off Flounder St -- opposite Adagio on 30a = drive in for a look - dunno what your budget is .......

wow, thanks so much you guys, we'll def. be driving through and around every possible area. we will check out flounder st. area too. so excited! i'll keep you posted while we're in town from our laptop and what we are finding and how its going. we're be there sun. morning through tue night. (budget for the rentals is around $1500-$1800 mo.) we're renting our house out here in st. louis for $1950/mo. so thought it would be good to stay right under that.

So glad you are moving to beautiful South Walton. You'll have a number of wonderful choices to select in South Walton from Sandestin and Miramar Beach, all along 30A with Blue Mountain, Grayton, Seaside, Seagrove and WaterColor, to the eastern border of SoWal with Alys Beach, Rosemary and Inlet Beach. Just FYI, nothing here is in Destin. That is a city over in Okaloosa County. There is a Kansas City, Kansas and a Kansas City, Missouri, but no Destin in Walton County. Some use that in error as their address and it can be confusing. :welcome:We have no incorporated cities in South Walton.
