Just watched a news clip from last night covering Republican John Kennedy trashing the "avocado toast eating" elites. This from he who is an Oxford (England) educated, former college debate team member --- can't get too much more elite than that --- and at least in 2004, a DEMOCRAT (this last just like Dump). Such hypocrisy. Yes, I think Dump will be impeached and No I think he will not be removed from office. I hope I am long gone before we become the Soviet States of North America. Sorry for the melodrama but I guess I am reaching my personal breaking point.
Trump is owned by Putin. Anyone who denies it is brainwashed or idiot or both.

I agree mostly but I'd rather say their thinking is idiotic rather than they themselves.

Daaayum, real time witness intimidation from trump during live House hearings.:yikes:
I agree that was not good for him. Other than that moment the ambassador is not doing anything to help the case.

The president has the right to make their own foreign policy and to make his own decisions, and with that I yield back.

Yovanovitch
While I obviously don’t dispute that the president has the right to withdraw an ambassador at any time for any reason, but what I do wonder is why it was necessary to smear my reputation?

Wenstrup
Well, I wasn’t asking about that, but thank you very much, ma’am

Other than being an example of a career foreign service individual who honors their oath of loyalty to country over loyalty to trump?

We have the right to speak!” the president fumed. “I have freedom of speech just as other people do but they have taken away the Republicans rights. I watched today as certain very talented people, who wanted to ask questions, and they weren’t even allowed to ask questions, Republicans. They weren’t allowed to ask questions.”
Go fuk yourself you lying prick. The Democrats are giving the the rethugs more courtesy under the rules they themselves wrote than they ever afforded to the Democrats.

I certainly don't think she is hurting it one bit. I believe it points towards the president's purely political motive and frame of mind. In and of itself, it just points to an unstable moron as president. Coupled with the incriminating evidence that we all know and love, it helps seal the deal.

Whenever it’s Gym No Jacket Jordan’s turn the witness should ask for a pause, stand and remove their jacket, then have a seat and say “ok, I’m ready” and make him repeat every question. When Gym’s time has expired they should put their jacket back on.

Edit: speaking of Gym, he is whining on live tv at this moment about having to obey the rules his own party put in place.

That could possibly be an article of impeachment. It certainly doesn't help Trump with any congressmen or senators who are on the fence regarding impeachment or removal. Maybe some other witnesses will bait Trump in this manner.

I don’t see any evidence for impeachment. She has nothing to add besides being fired by the president. Didn’t you think it was interesting that she was briefed for her job, before she went to Ukraine. For me the big news today was the Obama administration did a question and answer review to help her with her new position. They prepared her for taking questions about Hunter Biden. That was so bad for Dems a turning point. Also schiff should not have done all the interviews saying he would letting the whistleblower testify before Congress. So he has his foot in mouth for all his bragging. It is a circus.

Holmes testified he heard trump ask about the investigation and Sondland said he was going to do it and also said trump only cared about the big stuff like the Biden investigation.
So it appears among some career personnel it was known as the “Biden investigation” not the corruption investigation.
We also know the Ukrainian President was scheduled to appear on Fareed Zaharia’s program with plans to publicly announce the investigation, but the whistleblower’s presence was revealed blowing up the extortion scheme thereby forcing the release of aid.
Here’s wishing the Democrats more shtty days like today.

Trump's Contemptible Attack on Marie Yovanovitch - The American Conservative
The president’s public and personal attack on a member of the Foreign Service is contemptible and unprecedented. Going after a career diplomat like this reflects not only the president’s usual disdain for our diplomats, but it shows his willingness to target and threaten public servants in the pursuit of his own personal interest. He abused his power by removing Yovanovitch, and he removed her because she was an obstacle to the shadow foreign policy that was being used to advance the president’s personal interests.

Exclusive: After private White House meeting, Giuliani associate Lev Parnas said he was on a 'secret mission' for Trump, sources say
Eventually, according to what Parnas told his confidants, the topic turned to Ukraine that night. According to those two confidants, Parnas said that "the big guy," as he sometimes referred to the President in conversation, talked about tasking him and Fruman with what Parnas described as "a secret mission" to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

That's the point of the impeachment trial to determine that. That answer didn't take away from the case against Trump bribery and extortion in the slightest. She is there as a material fact witness, not a legal opinion witness. :dunno:

There has been a lot of talk in right wing circles that questioned the purpose of Ambassador Yovanovitch's testimony in making the case for impeachment. One of the main purposes is that it calls into question the President's motives and intentions, particularly with regard to fighting corruption in Ukraine. In the ambassador we have a person of high integrity and competence dedicated to fighting corruption. Using a smear campaign full off falsehoods as justification, Trump removes her, actually increasing the likelihood of corrupt practices in the Ukraine government. This just further bolsters the view that his extortion tactics to bring about investigation into the Bidens was purely for selfish political reasons and not part of some larger fight against corruption in general. Of course the phone call from Trump to Sondland, overheard by Holmes, further corroborates this. Now we all know that Trump only cares about "big stuff," such as the "Biden investigation" . If he cared about more, he wouldn't have removed the ambassador, and he certainly wouldn't have gone on a childish smear campaign, which he felt the need to continue during her testimony.

What’s your point? I know it’s a shock to your low info brain, but no claim was ever made that she had knowledge. That is not why she testified. If you want direct knowledge tell your Pussygrabber hero to come out from hiding or at the least send some rube with evidence that will exonerate him. Oh that’s right, there isn’t any such evidence.:floor:
