On Foxnews.com, Ken Starr is saying Sondland's testimony makes this one of those "bombshell days". I know from his earlier statements that this was enough to change his minds. One of the takeaways is more clear evidence of obstruction due to the fact that Sondland was denied access to information he felt he needed in order to provide thorough testimony. Starr is still not all in on impeachment, but you can bet that the house is. The video is onl 3 minutes long and worth a watch.

After saying they could not accept a quid pro quo, House Republicans say it no longer matters if President Trump tied $400 million in military aid earmarked for Ukraine to Kyiv agreeing to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden.

The evolving Republican position on impeachment comes as key witnesses testify publicly about allegations Trump abused his power in dealings with Ukraine, with some government officials lending credibility to accusations by House Democrats that the president demanded a quid pro quo of Kyiv. When the claims first surfaced in a whistleblower complaint, Republicans said that, if true, they might be forced to consider impeaching Trump.

The question is, does impeachment help Dems election wise at a state election level? I think so, but I do not see the benefit for the White House race. Unfortunately I think Cheeto gets reelected. Amazing.

He could get reelected, but I don't think impeachment will hurt the Dems in the Presidential election even without removal. I do think that if they either vote not to impeach, or fail at the impeachment vote, then that will hurt their chances at the presidency.

Laura Cooper, a deputy assistant secretary of defense, testified Wednesday that her staff received indications Ukraine may have been aware that U.S. aid was being withheld as early as August or even July 25 -- the date of President Trump's momentous phone call with Ukraine's leader, in which the president mentioned an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden's dealings there.

At the same time, Cooper said she was under the impression the aid was restricted simply due to the Trump administration's concerns over "corruption" in Ukraine. Cooper testified she was never provided any other explanation for the hold, though others have asserted it was tied to the effort to extract an investigation of the Bidens.

Similarly, top State Department official David Hale, sitting alongside Cooper, testified that he was unaware of any "nefarious" motive by the Trump administration in withholding the aid. He said financial assistance to several other countries was withheld as well.
