Nobody is starting a War, but YES, he deserves our protection and there must be consequences for attacking or killing Americans. There will be no prolonged ground war in Iran."Nobody is starting a war" is just another stupid statement by you. There is a war going on.

You can’t be this dumb?Either we are in a war or we condone and participate the assassination of foreign government officials. Which is it?

I don't have a problem with them killing Soleimani. It is the events over the last couple of years that led up to it being an option on the table and "necessary" in the eyes of the President that give me pause. I trust neither him nor anyone in his administration to give a straight story about the imminent need for this action. The fact that he (Soleimani) has been partly responsible for deaths of soldiers, in a region where we have been at war for nearly 20 years, is not a good enough reason in and of itself. Anyway, his assassination is water under the bridge and now the only thing to do is play this the best way possible. Is our man up to the task? After totally obliterating a treaty that was of measurable benefit, I have to wonder. This man who spends more time understanding the complexities of his golf game than the complexities of international relations, worries me.

Rand Paul, Mike Lee rip administration over 'insulting and demeaning' Iran briefing
Paul added that he found the briefing "less than satisfying" and knocked the administration for using the 2002 war authorization as the basis for last week's airstrike against an Iranian general.
"I see no way in the world you could logically argue that an authorization to have war with Saddam Hussein has anything to with having war with people currently in Iraq," Paul told reporters.
He added that using the 2002 authorization to justify the strike that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad was "absurd" and an "insult."

Sen. Duckworth said on the Senate floor
Once again he’s been manipulated by a hostile regime into decisions that further their goals while endangering the security of the nation Trump’s actually supposed to lead… All these dictators have realized the same thing: the President of the United States is as easy to control as a toddler. Sweet talk him or thump your chest and issue a few schoolyard threats, and you’ve got him. He’ll fall for it every time, doing your bidding as if it’s his own. I wish this weren’t true, but my diaper-wearing 20-month-old has better impulse control than this president.”She is absolutely correct. Only in the bizarro world of trumpism would a dozen rockets fired at you be a de-escalation of hostilities. The Iranians got trump to do exactly what they wanted by purposely avoiding any American deaths and saying they wanted an end to the debacle he started.

Rand Paul, Mike Lee rip administration over 'insulting and demeaning' Iran briefingRand Paul really came out against the prez* this afternoon in an interview on CNN. I can't recall the details, but he laid the blame, for the situation we are in, squarely on Trump and the "Cheneys" (his words) that forced the invasion of Iraq in the first place. It's weird that we heard nothing from him (and Dick Durban, for that matter), about anything, until they spoke up today against the Nutjob.

Read the full text of Rand Pauls interview before drawing any conclusions as Senator Paul was not the only one who crossed party lines on his objections - I don't like to jump into any political discussions on this forum but your statements need more facts as they can be interpreted as quite nebulous

So Russia and Iran are allies, right? Russia supposedly wants the President elected/ reelected. The President is under pressure because of the articles of impeachment. Iran is a great deflection and Russia and those who invest in the United States armaments manufacturers are happy. The Iran, United State status quo relationship is the same. Just a thought.

The part I heard was that the primary fault in the entire situation we now face in the Middle East can be attributed to the "Cheneys" forced invasion of Iraq on false intelligence. Again, please enlighten me as to what he really said.

Yep, origin of “drink the kool aid.” Also where Jackie Speire survived five gunshot wounds. Guns and bibles and death from both, sort of defines right wingism doesn’t it.
