According to what I read this morning it appears that Senate Leader McConnell doesn't have the votes to dismiss the articles of impeachment. Of course I find it interesting he doesn't go ahead and push for a vote so that everyone knows who didn't support dismissal.

Mitch has said, many times, that he has the votes to stop removal. I don't think these two or three "defections" are real. People like Rand Paul use issues like this to make themselves look like they are really "working hard" for their constituents. I think the trial will be one big piece of theatrics, so the gullible won't think it's a sham.

Senators Murkowski, Collins, Alexander, Romney and I thought there was one more said they would move to call witnesses. First, as partisan as all this is I feel the Senate has an obligation to move forward. I may not be satisfied with outcome but as long as they follow the process I can at least take comfort in that. Just my opinion.
