i got some fantastic bling for christmas 2 yrs ago, and expecting something a bit special for my b-day ! honestly, my hubby is not terribly romantic, i pick out what i want and have them hold it for us, etc. he's a good man tho' and that's what's most important.

nothing wrong with picking out your own stuff. in fact, it's much preferrable, considering the taste of some...

The Christmas before our 25th anniversary I received a wedding invitation from my husband to OUR wedding. He planned a vow renewal on our June anniversary. We had a wedding ceremony at the church, complete with flowers and musicians, me in a beautiful ivory-colored gown. The reception was at our home with a catered dinner and a string ensemble (that included our daughter and some professional musicians). It was absolutely beautiful and very moving.

He took the diamond from my original engagement ring, found a matching stone, and a much larger one for the middle to make a three-stone diamond ring.

He took me to The Four Seasons in Maui for our honeymoon. After buying a ring like that at Neiman Marcus, the accommodations were free on our InCircle points. And the airline tickets were free because of all of his frequent flyer miles. Of course, we took our darling daughter.

That's a pretty romantic idea, don't you think?

Oh goodness! I have one of those kind too! I bought my own engagement ring, wedding band and 10-year anniversary ring...never even occurred to Merman to do any of that so I did it myself. And that's the way I like it. ;-)

I know Merman's done romance but honestly, I have a mind like a sieve, completely non-retaining. I can't remember details or incidents but I'm smiling right now so surely there's been wonderful marital romance somewhere along the line! I wouldn't be so happy with the man otherwise.

My hubby doesn't do the typical stuff, but I find it romantic when he surprises me with lunch at work, or has the laundry washed and put up when I am overloaded...just the daily thoughtful things make me happy. once he surprised me with a beautiful ring....really sweet.

that's awesome ! the only way my hubby could do something like this is if someone else planned it for him !
