You wouldn't catch me in one of those clubs, esp during spring break. Been there and done that.

I'm really surprised that they named her, given her age and what she was up to. Our newspaper has a policy against it.

I want to know why the bartender or owner was not fined for having a minor in there? :idontno:
I think in MO they can shut you down for that.

Some of the clubs allow minors into the club. I am told that Club La Vela charges about $20 cover charge and the minors are very willing to pay the fee. I am not sure which club was involved in this incident, but I assure you that it happens at most clubs in Panty Bra City Beach and several in Destin during Spring Break. Maybe you don't know, but "Girls Gone Wild" was started in Panty Bra City Beach. The incident is not isolated --n ot much different than the number of kids drinking illegally under the age of 21 -- way more than actually get caught.

The girl still looked a little drunk in her mug shot on the evening news last night.

Oh come on now. I happen to be in PCB at my place on the east end of Thomas drive (my place on 30A is occupied). It is gorgeous here today. About two families on "our" beach, 4 or 5 boys playing volleyball and four girls in the pool. Nice and guiet and guiet lovely.

However, I did have to go for groceries last and as I went past Hurricane Freds (I think that is what it is called) and it didn't seem to slow them down any. The crowd was hugh and that is what drew my attention to it.

17 :( :( :(

Hope to make it west very soon!!

That is the very reason they "fine" the owner or the bar tenders here. It is common place for underage drinkers to go into many a clubs here, but when they get caught, the place is shut down for a week or two. When you are adding up what some of these clubs make a night, you are talking about alot of money. I guess they risk it to bring in the crowds.

The company I work for is a major corporation here in St. Louis that takes underage drinking very seriously. They spend millions of dollars a year on campaigns to promote "responsible drinking" not only for adults, but for minors too. Maybe that's why its such a big deal here.

No one gets two guess who I work for.! :floor:

I understand that some clubs really do try to keep the underage kids from buying, possessing, and consuming alchohol, but I have a hunch that those places are in the minority. I am sure the police are too busy handling other things. They have to set priorities.

Speaking of clubs making good dough, I have been told that Club La Vela, North America's largest nightclub, makes enough money by the end of spring break to cover the entire year's expenses. Everything from April forward is all gravy.
