I don't have any suggestions that don't have screw caps, but I just started taking "Wine & Food", (you know, it looks good on the coffee table) so I will look tomorrow for you.

DD, you're funny. I am not able to drink wine, but my sister in law has brought over to parties a wine called , and I am serious, "Fat BastXXrd" and people loved it.
Not all the stores have it though, so I am not sure if you can get it in your area.

Ooh - I have a lot of favorites. But if you like Pinot Grigio, I suggest a Spanish white; Naia 2005 Verdejo. I pay about $11 here in Chicago, but it's on wine.com for $14.99:

I've also been very fond of rose over the past summer. A really good one is Mulderbosch from South Africa:

A lot of my favorite wines are from Spain, Australia and other countries like South Africa and New Zealand. You can find some really great wines from these areas for around $10 a bottle.

I live in TN and we cannot get wines shipped to us....some state law only allowing purchases from stores. Maybe one day that will change. I will try the Rose.

I had to look at it twice.
Yes, it looks like I said Bat Turd. :rofl:quirty

Yes, I noticed that Wine.com asks you what state you want to ship to as soon as you enter the website. Lucky for me that Binny's Beverage Depot is 2 blocks away!

My small town has 3 liquor stores....the variety isn't there. I go to one in Nashville......it is like a Christmas catalog in real life. When I go to visit my child in NC, I love to shop the grocery store to see all the choices.

My favorite wine is Chardonnay. I like some oak, I love the buttery rich viscosity. (I guess it's probably the opposite of delicate, crisp Pinot Grigio.)
I like wines from all over the world. Some favorite bargains are from Chile or Australia.
The past couple years I've really enjoyed some reds from the Languedoc region of France. It is often called "black wine" for its concentrated earthiness and depth.
The Languedoc does not get the kind of awe and respect that Bordeaux does, but they sure do come up with some excellent, well-priced stuff. Even their more expensive wines are more reasonably priced than Bordeaux or Super-Tuscan bottles. The grapes to look for are Mourvedre and/or Malbec.
Mango, I love Fat Bastard, though now it is pricier than it used to be.
I love a mouth-filling, chewy Chard, and am constantly searching for something cheaper than those big but pricey California wines.

My current favorites are Folie A Deux's Menage A Trois Red and Sokol Blosser's Muller Thurgau (white). Although haven't been able to find the Muller recently. Both are domestic.
