No, I have not. But you can be for sure it's in my vocab now. I am also PUI, thanks to Kitty, so I am not responsible for any typos this evening. And, I can't say this word while PUI.

Maybe not. But some words are so striking in their written form that it doesn't matter how rarely they've been spoken. The visual sometimes--indeed, many times---trumps that which is spoken. Isn't it the written word which has carried civilization forward? If a word has barely been spoken it need never die as long as it's been written.

BRIO is an Italian word and my Pippi has it in spades! She has immersed herself into learning how to be an Italian with such brio.

Talking about foreign words, I get French Word A Day and today's word was beguin, which means "passing fancy." All my life I've loved that Cole Porter song "Begin the Beguin" and now I finally know what they're talking about!

That's alright. We can make do.

Pippi's love for Italy was not a beguin (passing fancy); no, indeed it was a beguine (spirited ballroom dance) of ideas and passions which swirled around her head, dancing the merry dance leading her to Florence with brio (spirit).
