Wow! A Bobcat in our Driveway!

We have a circular driveway- he was directly in front of the front door when the dogs went NUTS. He didn't seem to worried, and was still a bit too unperturbed for my comfort level when I opened the door and yelled at him. Then he sauntered out the driveway to the mailbox, and when we yelled at him, he tore off into the woods across the street! Wow- he was pretty! But I don't want him getting too comfortable.

Very cool. I know what you mean though. I would have loved to have seen him.

He might just be in total shock from the sudden invasion.

A few years ago our neighbor looked out of the door on the second floor of her garage apartment and stared one in the eye. It just stood there for a few seconds and then ran down the stairs and took off.

When I was little, we had this kitten that seemed a bit odd. When it got older, it didn't purr, it growled. It also used to jump on you and seriously tried to harm you. Turns out it was a bobcat. I never did buy the story that my father took it to the woods and let it go.

Wow jdarg, I'm glad you have the dogs to let you know about your visitor! I bet it was pretty cool sight though...

I saw two coyotes the other night while driving home, they were just hanging out by the side of the highway watching traffic. First time I've ever seen them around here, was neat...

Very cool, Jdarg!
I saw a bobcat once along 98 last spring, but have never yet heard one.
They are supposed to be here on Amelia, too, but so far I've not seen one, let alone had one waiting for me in the driveway. ;-)

I have been looking at pictures of bobcats (the 4 legged kind rdelong!). Anyway- our bobcat is young- and not much bigger than our cat. Same markings, build, little bob tail, and black tipped ears as an adult, but the face was not as mean looking. It probably weighed about 15-20 pounds.

Yes! A bit smaller and a little more kitten-like in the face. But definitely a bobcat.
