Dedicated To The Arts: May Is Art Month In Walton County, Florida

Art Month presented by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), is a month-long celebration of the arts held each May in Walton County, Florida.

Throughout the month, residents and visitors can experience a wide range of visual, performing, and literary arts through exhibitions, festivals, performances, workshops, and special events hosted across Walton County. With programming taking place in galleries, public spaces, and community venues, Art Month highlights the area’s vibrant creative culture and local artists. 

The Art Month Walton 2026 lineup is full of offerings to celebrate creativity, innovation and the beauty of self-expression including ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival, Longleaf Writers Conference, Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach, Locals Last Stand at The Pavilion at Watersound Town Center, performances of Mystic Pizza by the Emerald Coast Theatre Company, Emerald Coast Storytellers events, an Artist Show with Plaid Columns at Curate in Rosemary Beach, and more. In 2025, The Walton County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) officially proclaimed May as Art Month Walton County, highlighting the county’s ongoing commitment to fostering the arts, supporting local artists, and enriching the cultural landscape of the community.

Commissioner Donna Johns shared her thoughts on the importance of the Arts in Walton County, stating, “The Arts are central to Walton County’s identity, enriching our community culturally, socially, and economically. Art Month celebrates the creativity that brings us together and enhances the quality of life for all who live in and visit our county. We are proud to support the Cultural Arts Alliance and all who contribute to the vibrant artistic spirit of our county.”

“We are honored and excited that the Walton County Board of County Commissioners continues to support Art Month Walton County,” said Jennifer Steele, President and CEO of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. “This official designation amplifies the value of the Arts in our community and helps us spotlight the many talented artists, cultural experiences, and creative opportunities available to both residents and visitors throughout the month of May and beyond.”

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) supports the arts through advocacy, education, funding, and innovative programming. For more than three decades, The CAA has helped create a thriving Walton County where everyone can experience the power of the Arts, with a mission to foster creativity in Walton County through the inclusive and collaborative advancement of the Arts.

From visual and performing arts to public art installations and artist residencies, its dynamic initiatives uplift local talent, inspire youth, and drive cultural tourism. Signature annual events include 30A Songwriters Festival, ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival, Art Month Walton County, Flutterby Festival, and Dine + Dive. An online Art on Demand program is part of CAA efforts to foster creativity.

Home of the CAA, The Bayou Arts Center is a venue for exhibits, classes, meetings and small events. Nestled among the long leaf pines on historic Hogtown Bayou, the Bayou Arts Center is a hidden gem and a peaceful destination for art, culture, heritage and nature.
