Restaurant Paradis is a Rare Find in SoWal
May 27, 2015 by Sarah Robertson
Restaurant Paradis is a rare find, with much talent in the kitchen. The gem in Rosemary Beach encapsulates the standards of fine dining without ever for a moment being pretentious or stuffy. Paradis serves modern, coastal-inspired dishes where every ingredient is expertly presented. The most important part of the restaurant's success is the people working to make it happen.
Remarkably, Paradis has maintained its same three chefs since opening nearly seven years ago. Executive Chef Mark Eichin, Chef de Cuisine Will Wiehl, and Sous Chef Shane Kirkland have skillfully operated the restaurant’s kitchen since 2009.
Experienced restaurateurs Danny and Monica Cosenzi took over ownership in 2013. The Cosezis were drawn to the incredible sense of community of both South Walton and the dynamic warmth of Restaurant Paradis itself.
The Paradis menu is varied, kept seasonally fresh, and features classically inspired dishes. Starters include seared Diver Scallops served with a wild mushroom and sweet pea risotto or house-made tortellini with beef filet and Maytag blue cheese in a sublime garlic truffle demi-glace. Entrees follow a coastal feel with exquisitely executed Grouper and Snapper dishes, but also include guest favorites like the decadent Duck Confit over a lentil cassoulet and an orange port reduction. Each plate is precise and thus poised for excellence.
Between 5:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. every evening, Restaurant Paradis offers a $12 discount on all entrees. This is an excellent opportunity for early-bird diners to try out a new dish or feel comfortable splurging on that premium bottle of wine. They also offer two wine specials nightly and $5 martinis during the happy hour.
On Sundays in Rosemary Beach you can find Restaurant Paradis’ prowess at the Farmer’s Market wowing folks with their deliciously creative crepes. Owner Danny Cosenzi swears by the prosciutto, arugula, apple butter, and brie version.
Restaurant Paradis proudly hosts special events and wine pairing dinners benefiting local charities throughout the year. Follow Restaurant Paradis on Facebook for menu updates, specials and wine dinners.
With a committed and capable staff, food rivaling any in the area, and a stylish yet casual ambiance, Restaurant Paradis has fashioned their place as a premiere dining establishment along Scenic 30A. More and more locals and guests are taking notice and reserving their seats at the table.
