Momentum is building for the highly anticipated Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park on Dec. 31. The New Year's Eve festivities will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. with a family celebration along Pier Park’s Boardwalk.
Interactive activities include face painting, costumed characters and exclusive giveaways. Enjoy live musical entertainment leading up to the first countdown of the evening at 8 p.m. with the release of 10,000 inflated beach balls along Pier Park's beachfront boardwalk. The Beach Ball Drop will be immediately followed by a dazzling fireworks display.
At 8:15 p.m., the official Countdown Celebration will begin with live music. Just before midnight, the crowd will countdown to 2016 as an 800 pound lighted beach ball descends nearly 100 feet followed by a second fireworks display.
