Love & Loyalty For Local Catch

September 12, 2016 by Sarah Robertson

Seasons pass and visitors ebb and flow, but one thing is a constant on Scenic 30A: Sundays are Fundays at Local Catch Bar & Grill. The parking lot fills and cars line the street as folks flock to listen to Forrest Williams, enjoy great food, and unwind with friends.

For more than five years now, co-owners Adam Yellin and Jimmy Hasser have worked every day to make Local Catch  memorable and turned the tasty restaurant into a SoWal mainstay.

It's not just Sundays that are hopping either. Local Catch's Happy Hour is a fan favorite Monday through Friday from 3-6 pm, with $5 premium cocktails and house wines. And speaking of fans, football season is back with awesome game-day specials like 75-cent wings and 2-dollar Bud Light and Shock Top drafts served at the bar and the high top tables.

People may come for the revelry but they stick around for the  food. I think there would be an all out riot if the nachos ever left the menu. These are the perfect portion for sharing as you mull over the menu deciding what's next. House made tortilla chips are loaded with tender, braised pork, Monterrey cheese, pickled jalapenos, and homemade white and hot sauces.

One of the best problems to have at Local Catch is what to order. It's all so good. My go-to is their Shrimp and Grits Tacos because for me it's the best of two great dishes. The tacos are filled with fresh gulf shrimp golden fried tossed in this punchy New Orleans style sauce along with bright spinach, yummy, creamy grits and finished with their freshly made pico de gallo.

After experiencing a tremendous meal and stellar service, Local Catch's loyal customers are eager to wear their name proudly. Their retail line has become so popular that they've expanded it to include more colors, styles, and sizes. They also make awesome gifts. I know one birthday celebration spent at “The Catch” my friends bought me a shirt instead of another round. Years later, that soft tee and I rarely part.

The whole family can show off their Local Catch love. T-shirts for kids come in four sizes, women's v-neck shirts range from small to XXL, and unisex short and long sleeve tees are available from small to triple XL. Polo shirts are coming soon and trucker hats in red, black, blue, and camo provide the best shade on a sunny beach day.

Local Catch owners Adam and Jimmy also know how to throw a party! Following a tradition of lively themed events, their 3rd annual Halloween party is fast approaching. Mark your mental calendars because this throw down will feature Forrest Williams and DJ 30A, as well as a costume contest with cash prizes! It's quickly becoming one of those SoWal traditions that shouldn't be missed.

Whether you stop by for a week night bite or belly up to the bar with your buds, Local Catch always has you covered. Just join their loyal army and you'll see for yourself what the buzz is all about.
