When is water clear in South Walton, Destin, 30A?

Hi, After years of vacationing at Fort Walton, Destin, Sandestin and Panama City, last year we stayed in Seacrest Beach and absolutely loved the entire stretch of 30A. Everything was wonderful EXCEPT for the gulf water. It had lots of green algae floating around which would get in your swimsuit, hair and all over the condo. It also smelled badly. We were there in the middle of July. We are planning another trip to come back this summer and was wondering if there are better times to come when the water is clear.
If anybody who lives there or visits often can offer any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks! :)

Think of the bay like a beer can, right now it's open like any other beer can; now punch a hole in the other end, pours a lot faster now doesn't it? They are effectively shotgunning the bay.

I lived here during that time, the waters off of PCB were never clear, once they allowed the East pass to seal back up it returned to emerald waters.
Did it affect SoWal water?

I remember seeing it at Deer Lake State Park. Not sure how far down it went.

Probably from deer lake or camp Creek Lake.

Yesterday was the first day all summer I encountered Junegrass. I felt lucky we made it this far. Water was feeling significantly warmer too. Must be the currents...

If you were at Crab Island that warm yellow water wasn’t from the currents.
