Channel 13 is reporting on it now. It's east of Wild Heron, and has jumped Back Beach Road. Sounds like it's getting close to structures.

Oh no, we rent in Inlet Beach. But way west of Hwy 79. That is getting a little too close. We may not have a place to come to in August. Hope IBD's place is safe. It is across 98 up that road by the Spicy Noodle. That fire is going to burn up everything down there if they cannot get it under control. :bang:

Channel 13 just said it is near the Wild Heron Development entrance and it has crossed 98; alot of homes near there. The wind is blowing it away from Inlet beach.

I know exactly where you are talking about. We've been walking in that area of homes across 98 from the Wild Heron Development. So sad to hear. :( We do our running around in PC Beach. Were they able to contain any of the fire that people in Point Washington were smelling? That is where Eden Gardens is. One of my favorite places to visit.

I was driving back from the PC airport about 5:15 and got shuffled off to Front Beach. At that time it looked like most or all of the fire was north of 98, but I've since heard (don't know if it's true) that some houses in Riviera Beach were on fire.

Bad news.

6:00pm news said some structure damage on homes, though they didn't specify if it was more than the peeled off (from heat) siding they were showing in the film clips.

Also, the firefighters were having to expand the perimeter, and it was probably going to be several hours before it could be considered to be contained.

:( i hate all these fires. when i was going to get little ibd from aftercare I saw one firetruck by the road and an airplane overhead. 20 minutes later, raging fire and had to go to front beach road, this was about 5:00. you could see the flames from the front beach/back beach connection. 😱 I hope no one was hurt....thank you fire fighters for all you do, and the police and anyone else who I forgot.....

I was viewing the WJHG website from Panama City Beach. Here is the link. They might have some video.

I saw a fire risk map and the entire Florida panhandle is high risk as of now. Please, be careful with your cigarettes.

That fire in Black Creek area is nowhere near Eden Gardens. Well, it is, but it isn't. Eden should not be in any danger unless that fire goes really crazy.

And if a police officer sees you throw a lit cigarette butt from a car window, they can charge you with a criminal misdemeanor under state law.

Florida's Gov Crist issued a High Danger Fire Alert for the entire state, earlier today.

I just drove past the area when I was coming home from school. 98 is blocked off between Southfields and Wisteria Lane.

Alright, here is a nerdy firetruck chasing story for you. I'm driving down 30-A and see the Merpeople hoofing it back to Mermaid's Cove. (This was the 2nd time today I had seem them loitering on 30-A!:floor: ). Anyway, they jump in the car, we all see the black smoke towards PCB, and of course have to go look for it. So we drive and drive and get to Shades and realize it is way farther than we want to go, so dejectedly turn around and head back to Seagrove.

We have pulled this dorky move with Punzey and Skunky, who also enjoy chasing firetrucks.

Smiling Joe, that channel 13 link is to a photo of Pandora's fire. Do you have another link?

Thanks
