International Child Porn Ring Uncovered

WASHINGTON (AP) - After James Freeman was vetted and approved for membership in what police describe as a highly sophisticated child porn network, he expressed his appreciation by posting two folders online: one labeled "mild," the other "wild."
"All I can say is that they are worth the download," wrote Freeman, 47, known in the global porn ring as "Mystikal," according to court documents. "My thanks to you and all the others that together make this the greatest group of pedos ever to gather in one place."
Freeman, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., was one of 12 Americans indicted last week in a worldwide investigation that ultimately charged 22 people with participating in the porn ring - and intentionally blocking police from investigating it.

Can you make it part of a neighborhoods covenants and restrictions that sex offenders are not allowed to own property there?You know, I really am not sure about that. I was on our HOA board, and we did not have it in our covenants. Our thought on the board was that we couldn't go above and beyond what the law would allow. There is talk in our state of opening a nursing home just for offenders.
Assume it would get struck down as discrimination, but liked the idea of it.
IMO you lose your "rights" once you decide to become a child abusing perv or rapist. :angry:

It is good to be aware of the ones living in your neighborhood, but remember that anyone can move in next door, at anytime, even if you buy in an area with no offenders. Also, remember that many predators have not been arrested and many predators are family members of their victims.
I'm more concerned about the nonresidents who visit our community. There are so many people coming and going ALL the time.

Me too, our neighborhood is great with the "stay away from x,y or z" here. Never really had that happen before, although I have also learned to befriend the older & wiser people around me because they know what the heck's going on with people & who's doing what.

Sometimes, I think about our daughters and tourists coming in as they grow older & the negative possibilities, but if I sat around and thought about too much, I'd go nuts.

I would change the language to sexual predators. There are many people on the offender's registry that are not perverted at all, but simply chose the wrong partner. Case in point - Fuzz's nephew. Nephew was 18? 19? and had consensual relations with a girl he had been seeing for a short time. He thought she was 17. Daddy caught them
- she was 14. Nephew is reported to be the third boy the girl's daddy had sent to prison. :angry:But, the law is the law, and it must apply equally. That is why I tend not to pay attention to the offender list. By its very definition, every sexually active teenager could qualify.

just to clear the air here, while i dont condone anything that Mr Freeman has done, past or present, I can say that I personally know him, and he isnt married at all. Not to an adult and not to some teenage girl. I believe the girl that is in question about being his wife was actually a 21 yo girl that was staying with him, but they are not married. Just wanted to put that in there. But like i said, nothing that he has done is right, and he deserves what comes to him, and more.

PENSACOLA - Federal prosecutors in James Freeman's vast Internet child porn case have asked for more time because the FBI "seized more evidence than it could have imagined" in busting him.TERABYTES? 58 TERABYTES of storage would cost a fortune!
Freeman, 48, formerly of Church Street in Santa Rosa Beach, was one of 12 men indicted in March for his role in a global porn ring that investigators say stretched to Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada.
He faces numerous federal charges: Engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, conspiracy, advertisement of child pornography, transportation of child pornography, receipt of child pornography and obstruction of justice.
"This case is one of the largest digital seizures in the history of the FBI," reads the prosecutors' motion for a continuance in Freeman's trial. They say they need until August to get through it, "even using all of the resources of the FBI."
The evidence includes about 58 terabytes of information from several defendants' computer hard drives.
By comparison, a typical video store may contain about 8 terabytes of video data. In 2006, when YouTube.com reportedly stored 45 terabytes of video data for viewing online, it was providing more than 100 million videos each day.

Although Florida's sex offender registry lists Freeman's status as released, his listed address is at the Santa Rosa County Jail.
