The latest financial report for The Mildred Wilkerson campaign reveals that developer Jay Odum and his many companies have now contributed 4250.00 toward this candidate. The total contributed from all sources is only 14,390 dollars. That is "big developer" trying to control a school board position. What does he expect?

Jay has already designated land, 40Acres I think, for the school, at Hammock Bay, just as he did for the City Park. I believe he did this as part of the original plans, because the Planning Commission looks more favorably to developments of that scale doing so. If he gets all of Hammock Bay built out, it will likely need a new school. Plus, those increased property values will generate more tax revenue to fund the building of schools. We don't build schools for no reason. We build them because our population growth demands them.
