Oooh, the water is emerald green and flat as a pancake with an occasional curl falling over at the shore line. The beach has a layer of darker sand on top at the moment, and it makes for a wonderful picture. Two people walking on the beach, hand-in-hand enjoy the solitude of the open beach as well as the company of each other. What a photo. Seagulls and a few Pelicans are clustered in the green shallow water only a few yards off the beach. A shell or two remain undisturbed, without even a footprint nearby. The sky is overcast with darker, low-level clouds, and the air temp is a cool 53F degrees. Water temp is about 72F degrees and there is a slight wind out of the north north west. Just another beautiful and peaceful day at the beach. The Red Bar should be open for business by now, but the small crowd today will be mostly locals. The beach towns are mostly empty as shoppers wrap up their Christmas shopping. Today is a great day to be here, with no place to go and all day to get there. 😀

More like its all about following the trend (or the crowd). I'll stick with home cooking.

SJ, your description got me out of my chair and down to the beach that same day you made this post. It was late and getting cold and the beach was deserted until this guy comes screaming down in his coupe. We had rain so the beach entrance was packed down and he didn't get stuck until he was almost to the water. Then he was able to push the car out while his girlfriend spun the wheels.

Then he spent awhile walking in the surf and throwing up. After he took off his shoes, socks, and pants, he got back in the car to head out and got stuck in the sand as badly as I've ever seen anyone get stuck. As I drove by him in the fading light, I was thankful that his drunken self would not be driving the roads of SoWal for at least a little while.

Texas plates and a bumper sticker that says "Trust God".

The beach is awesome today - 53 but feels like 75 with clear, flat water and blue skies. :clap_1:

Inlet Beach - note that they're having trouble keeping their seawall covered.
