Gov. Crist well thought of?

I can't figure it out, Gov. Crist said he was going to reduce taxes, I think the quote was " drop like a rock", he also advised he was going to fix the insurance issue in the State. Now the polls show that he has above 60% approval rating according to the polls. My question is, what has he done. :idontno:

...are you implying that I'm implying that he's as gay as a handbag full of rainbows?

<Not that there's anything wrong with that.>

Keeps a nice tan and moves at a different vibration than other humans. ( I say this because I attended an event that Crist spoke at and was in the front row. When I got back to the office, almost all of my pixs were weird. Everyone else was still in them, but he was blurry.):shock:

I thought that was where this was going. My question was what has he done, besides go to England and get engaged? What makes him popular? Can it really be what he hasn't done, or by not saying much.

Since you posed this question, why are you asking? Are you thinking he has not done something? And if so, what?

I personally do not think he has done the 2 things he campaigned on to the extent he implied, I also believe that in single minded pursuit staying popular is more important to him than what I percieve the damage he has caused. My opinion only, but I am more curious what supporters or those that believe he is doing a good job believe. Some issues I have is the Indian Gaming issue, the tax cuts that have taken place that have caused reduced services to those in need, but we continue to by property, ie Everglades, and pay to have grass cut along the highway but we continue to dip in reserves to cover the cost of the current deficits and will continue to do so to cover the future deficits. CFO has called for special session and Gov. Crist Wants to wait for a report. School budgets are on the chopping block which means local governments will have to make up any shortfalls.

I give him points on voting rights and voting access issues- he was the one who pushed to have an all paper ballot system after six years of Jeb! saying the touch screen system worked Just Fine, and he's made it easier for felons to have voting rights restored.

I also like how he took his own stand on the Terri Schalvo matter.

He also showed that bitter queen side when he extended early voting hours. :black girl head bob: "I'll show you not to take me as your VP candidate".

I have wondered about that to.

I believe it was a yr ago last June on the news for a while they said everyone that owned a home was going to get a couple hundred dollars to help them with the high cost of ins. They talked about it on the news for a few wekks than nothing came and it was nevered mentioned again.

You guys are funny. :floor:

I like Charlie. I don't think he's a tool because he does tend to go his own way. He does seem to have a strong moral compass, one of the things that makes him likable.

I think the problem with him is that he is reactive, not proactive. This made him a good and popular AG because he would hear about problems and work hard on behalf of the citizens to get them resolved.

His decision to extend the early voting hours was a perfect Charlie move -- he saw a problem, he fixed it, he gained popularity by doing the right thing and not the political thing. But in doing so he gained political points.

However: He seems to utterly lack vision and can't seem to effectively deal with complex problems. If he has advisors around him who can, I don't know about it. Alex Sink right now seems to be the only one up there grounded in reality. She will give him a run for his money in two years. He would be better in the Senate, methinks.

I don't think much of him. After he "fixed" the insurance problem, my insurer left the state and dumped me into Citizens.
Anyone want to start a little pool on when he breaks his engagement?

So other than giving felons back their right to vote, and paper ballots this is what is keeping his numbers positive. Based on what I read in the NWF Daily News, it appears we may be dipping into the reserves again and the Florida House and Senate and Gov. Crist seem to be waiting. Oh and slapping Senator McCain, by extending the voting hours in Florida. Did that really help President Elect Obama?

I think we have to do that in the lounge. Can we throw in other pending "marriages" that will be affected by the outcome of the election?

We got portable SOH exemptions, decreased property taxes, insurance reform, and an increased homestead exemption. All in all homeowners should be enjoying the lower tax rates.

As far as dipping into reserves, that's what reserves are for. Be glad we don't live in a state like California that has no reserves to dip into.
