As I research rental property, I am coming across many communities/subdivisions that were not around several years ago, or maybe I just didn't know they had names. I have seen Grove by the Sea, Summer's Edge, Cassine Village as well as many others.
Can anyone tell me going East to West where each of these communities are? Maybe you could let me know where in relationship to Seaside, 395, or other landmarks so that I will know the location. I am interested in the communities with homes, not condos.
Thanks

I believe it is owned by wetwilly. It looks like an awesome house. It is owned by wetwilly and it is an awesome house--check it out. As a Summer's Edge owner, I respectfully disagree with Santiago's views--but having to cross 30A is a much bigger deal when you have young children as opposed to teenagers.

Cassine Village is closer to Tom Thumb, north of 30-A, apartment-style (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Lower-end accommodations.
Cassine Village encompasses the cottages, the new "Cassine Station" condos and the Cassine Gardens 2 story -townhomes. The townhomes were built in the 80's, but most of them are cozy, updated with stylish furnishings, generously sized and quite comfortable. Although they're not beachfront, they're less than 300 feet from the beach. If you're looking for an upscale place right on the beach, Cassine Gardens townhomes are not for you. But if you're looking for comfort and "homey" environment at an affordable price, they're great units to rent!
Interestingly enough, a few of those "lower-end accommodations" you refer to are currently on the market for $450K - $490K each! http://details.sellingdestinfl.com/details.aspx?MLS=2382944&AGE=1

Pokey, I have a map of 30-A that's a few years old, but I got it at the tourist board, Beaches of South Walton. You could call them and request one. It's the "map of Florida's scenic highway." The phone is (800) 822-6877. My map has all the streets and all the subdivisions that are on them, the entire length of 30-A. This would be really helpful to you!

The condos, Cassine Station, will be completed in the next few weeks.I know I mentioned after we came home last month that we'd seen this building and thought it was really attractive. I found a website, and the website clearly says it is commercial and vacation rentals. So, I used the contact info and asked when the units would be available for vacation rentals, and a very nice person emailed me back and said there were to be no vacation rentals. :idontno:

Mermaid-Thanks for that information. I called but they are all out of 30-A maps and I was told the new ones would not be in until March. That's ok; I will have it for next years search.

Not having seen the condo docs, I cannot say, but I would think the units are available for short term rentals. I will try to remember to find out tomorrow. The ground floor will be commercial and the upper three levels are residential.

I'd appreciate anything else you could find out, thanks!

I think you are correct. Where has wetwilly been lately? :idontno:
Yes you did check on our house Lemon Drop and thanks for the kind words from everyone. The house is at www.findvacationrentals.com/7475 and kurt's virtual tour is at www.emeraldcoasttours.com/20brownstreet/. It is booking up pretty fast for 2006 so let me know soon.
Anyone interested in the house just let me know. We love the area of Eastern Lake and the Summer's Edge community is very nice. We can get to Seaside, Rosemary, the state parks, and Grayton with ease. Publix is just 1-2 miles away too.

BTW, I told your wife about a new router that might help you get wireless in the carriage house. It is made by Belkin, and I understand that is is great for distances according to the saleman at MicroCenter. I am looking at it for my parent's house.
i have a belkin(just got rid of a dlink 624)and it rocks. never drops service and has a huge footprint.

I'm surprised! I was under the impression that Cassine Station would be available for rental after March 2006! I believe it was South Walton Realty that was going to be handling the rentals. However, if I'm not mistaken, I think that South Walton Beach Resorts is now Royal Beach & Golf Resorts?
http://www.royalbeachrentals.com/ At least the folks that used to work at SWBR are now the same who are at Royal, and the phone number is the same. They're located in Grayton Beach temporarily, but I've been told that they'll be leasing an office on the first floor of Cassine Station as soon as it's complete. Not sure who you talked to, but I'd call them back at 850-534-0841 and ask for Denise (manager) or Jessica to get the straight scoop.

Cassine Station may indeed be completed and ready to go by March '06. I have not heard about Royal Rentals taking space on the ground floor, but that may be possible. I somewhat doubt it though, because the RE Broker that is moving in also owns a rental company which is hoping to open shop in SoWal in Feb. -- my guess is that it will be at that same location, and I cannot see Mr Howard (developer of Cassine) wanting to have two rental companies in that building. I have yet to speak to any owners of Cassine Station about who they will be using to rent their units. I would bet that many of the buyers are flippers and have not signed up to rent them because they are intending to flip them when they close.

Good question. There are several new businesses in the area since this time last year. Several in the shops of Uptown Grayton, including Another Broken Egg Cafe, and a few more shops in the Shops of Grayton North. Amore, located in Gulf Place, Shades at the Loop, ...
