I was on Grayton Beach yesterday and I was told the Police on the beach were there because an "Arm" washed up on the beach. Does anyone know anything about this? It wasn't on the local news.

Nobody said anything about it to me, and I would think it would have been quite the topic of conversation as many of us were out to see the full moon. :idontno:

False alarm; bird/animal bones. But a little disconcerting at first.

We heard about this yesterday while we were at the beach from several of the beach service guys....:idontno: They also mentioned other body parts washed up in PCB...again:idontno:

i was parked right in front of the bones yesterday and was there when the call was made to the sheriffs dept. as much as i didnt want to believe they were human bones, it was hard to determine. i know it didnt come from the sea thats for sure. it was a bit spookey especially because we picked them up before the cops showed up. just never know these days....

I was told that there were six Sheriff's Deputy vehicles on the scene, which was roped off, as one of the Deputies was taking numerous photos of the bone(s). A big investigation was about to begin. They soon determined it was the bone(s) of a Pelican.

So much for juicy Who-Done-It gossip.

Only when I'm able to find out. ;-) If it HAD been a human arm (or any other active investigation), I wouldn't be able to.

whoa..

actually it was really strange to read this as I was at the beach yesterday (Gulfview Heights access) and I could have swore there was a human hand floating in the water...I crept closer but I was not even thinking about picking it up. Needless to say, I got back on my scooter and went home.

I think that is quiet possibly the funniest thing I've ever read on here! :floor:

Just so happens AAbsolute cut off two fingers in WaterSound Beach this past week. Dr. couldn't reattach.

February a year ago my dog brought up a piece of a human arm, the part from the shoulder to the elbow, the bone had been removed, and it was freshly cut. Sheriff's dept. came out put it a bag and took it to Pensacola. It had a small pox vaccination scar on it.

That is really a sad story. I guess you never heard anything further about the identification, investigation, etc.?

Oddly, I never heard about that and pretty much any recovery of human remains causes our home phone to ring. I'm hoping FDLE actually did something with it - like, perhaps, a DNA test?

Never heard anything else, but the 2 deputies and myself had a lot of trouble identifing it as anything else but human. Of course everyone had to poke it too! I did hear on the news sometime later that individuals were killing people and cutting them up and disposing the pieces over a large area to make it difficult to identify.
