Has anyone else received their 2009 property tax assessment this year? Mine just came today and the reduction off last year is 26%, with a total reduction of 37% over three years. Not bad!

How can they agree?
It's amazing that for first time since we've lived here that my bank and the property appraiser have come this close on the numbers on our property value. Ridiculous! I knew my bank was full of sheet but now I see it in B&W.
Is it just me? Has anyone ever had the property value on their county records been as close as what the mortgagors say its worth?

My total tax estimate went up on all scenarios while the assessed value of the property went down.

So, it sounds like the Property Appraiser has valued our properties fairly, but the millage rates have increased? That stinks!
Not looking forward to opening my bill.

I believe only the school district actually increased millage while still cutting spending and taxes. If your property is not homesteaded, you will probably see a cut, if it is homesteaded you will probably see an increase. Especially if it has been homesteaded for a bit.
