Thunder Beach, held in Panama City Beach, begins this Thursday, Sept 24-27, 2009. Starting today, I began to see several small groups of bikers. Just a reminder to look twice before changing lanes. Motorcycles can be overlooked if you aren't paying attention while driving.

They've been here all week. Apparently the latest macho look at me the only big thing here is noise stunt is to literally ride the center line forcing other vehicles almost off the road. If I wasn't under the assumption that they are all un/under insured I'd just let them prove how macho they are as they slide down the side of my truck.

:bang:..my poor ears!
Motorcyclists...please go through the stop sign at 30A and WC as slowly and as quietly as you can!
Have a safe and good trip to the area!

I've noticed a number renting places in SoWal as PCB is so close. I would imagine some are even homeowners here. They probably appreciate our beautiful beaches, parks, good restaurants and scenic 30A. Makes for a pretty and fun ride.
Riding ON the center line is a no-no, but they do teach to ride close to the center line in order to claim the lane (for safety) in Advanced Riding Courses taught by the state. If you ride close to the shoulder of the road, drivers will try to claim the lane from you.

It's also a visibility thing. So the person in front of them can see them in their mirror.
Also, when entering intersections, it helps the motorcycle rider to see all directions better.

Look Twice, Save a Life!
Thanks for the info SJ! I don't like when riders are so close to the line since it makes me nervous. Unlike SWGB though, I'd prefer not to let them slide down the side of my truck. That's sick.
What you said makes sense though. Sometimes without realizing it, I get too close when they ride on the shoulder side. My parents ride so I always be careful and give bikers their space.
