The police are blocking the roads looking for a bank robbier on S. Shore Drive. Anyone know anything.

Possibly scanning for the GPS transmitter in a bait pack.

I just hope they catch this person before he makes his way to Pt. Washington.

From the Sheriff's page... Just After 2pm today, a man held up the Coastal Bank Branch in Miramar Beach. He told the teller that he had a gun, and left on foot. The suspect is described as a white male and is believed to be in his 50s. He is approx. five-foot-five, wearing a white t-shirt. Beard and mustache. Anyone who has information on robbery contact the SO at 892-8111

I live near Bayside and there are cops (marked & unmarked) roaming through the neighborhood). Just got an automated call from SO with info regarding what the guy looks like - but not really a lock down notice...

Hey, is that the guy who was sleeping in the canoe?
Who is that lady blabbing on the cell phone?

This is Wachovia, not Coastal Bank!
We just saw the pics on the daily news and came here to see if anyone else noticed the bank photos. This is not coastal bank, but wachovia! We are familiar with both banks also.
Very weird! I hope they didn't release photos of the wrong person! Or is it the right person, wrong bank?

Okay. We figured it out. This guy must have been at the Wachovia first but didn't rob them (see time stamp on photo). He then went down the road to Coastal Bank and robbed them. The cops warned Wachovia of the individual and they remembered a man from an hour before who sounded very similar to the robbery suspect. Of the two banks, Wachovia had the better images of the suspect, so they were the ones released.

so have they caught the guy? I had to go to work and now I'm home & didn't see cops anywhere. I'm assuming he's in jail by now?
SoWal Insider
I don't think he's been caught . Looking at the picture, it doesn't appear much thought went into the robbery. He certainly didn't try to hide or alter his appearance. Seeing someone on camera leads me to ponder the thoughts leading up to the crime. What was he thinking?
SoWal Insider
I understand they are still looking for him.
