How is the sea life. We enjoy watching the dolphins play in the gulf. Anyone know if the oil has pushed them away?

I haven't seen any lately but then again, I ususally don't when the water is as rough as it's been the last several days. The water has been very clear near shore & we've seen several schools of minnows being attacked by ladyfish & probably whiting. The water & beach were beautiful all weekend with no traces of oil. We all went boogie-boarding & no one had any tar issues. It was all in all a normal wonderful 4th on 30A!

We did not see one dolphin while we were there last week. We usually see several during the week. I assumed it was because of the rough surf. At least I hope that is what it was. They are smart animals, if it is oil that is the problem, I hope they have swam far away from it.

We shot this video (below) back around Memorial Day. After that day, I stopped seeing dolphins in the Gulf and haven't seen any in the bay either, and they are commonly seen in the Bay. However, today, I saw four dolphins in the Bay.

I heard reports of several dolphin sightings in front of Whale's Tale yesterday.
