There are two candidates running for the District 3 School Board position.
Those who have not voted or that have not made up their mind on which candidate to support might find the information in the document below interesting enough to help them make the right choice.

But more importantly...where is his mailbox?
Does his house in District 3 look lived in?
Does he understand that a high school play is just that..a play? And does he understand that props used in a play, representing popular activities of the era in which the play depicts, are not going to send the students and/or their community to hell?

Your posts are so negative and nasty that I am voting for anyone running AGAINST your chosen candidate.
It's local politics - could we please discuss the actual issues and concerns, not smear.

Thats me negative and nasty I guess, but I truly believe that the information in that document should raise a concern for a voter.
Now that you have revealed your decision process on candidates here is a list of who I support.
Barnhill
Eddins
Cuchens
Sunday
Crist
McCollum
Kottcamp
What a hoot - now comes the Jedi Mind Trick - am I giving you the real list or have I reversed the support on each candidate or some candidates.

Since your attacks on Cuchens and Eddins are well documented I am guessing this is the real list.
My problem is your link is incomplete, you can't review the documents. So for all we know he got a speeding ticket while driving a bus full of students to a play that included content that could send them to hell and then drove by his phony residence to check his mail.

I had already leaned against the incumbent in this race but you have sealed the deal. Thanks. ;-)

I'm sorry I just found where you went back and added the documents. Thanks for clearing that up.
This stuff happened 15-20 years ago, since then I have been told the man has a great record as principal of a very difficult charter school where all the bad actors in Walton County are sent. So do we reelect an incumbent or send a message with a candidate who has been successful in the trenches?
I do wish shallows would tell the rest of the story on the residence and the trip to hell.

Andy, applying logic to politics will get you nowhere.

The story of the play (others will have to help me out with the name of it as it's been a while) is surely archived somewhere on SoWal. And the mailbox isn't hard to spot; just requires a lazy afternoon trip to Point Washington. Take in a picnic at Eden while you're here.
Don't get me wrong - she and her family are some of the best people you'd ever want to meet. I love her to death personally - just not as an elected official.

Roberts seems more concerned with taxes than anything. Since she seems to be kow-towing to the WCTA before anyone else, she might be better off working for them.
Regarding Blithe Spirit, Roberts and Darrell Barnhill both voted to remove Noel Coward's play, Blithe Spirit, from the WCSD library shelves. Yes folks, this is called book banning, and has no place in the public educational system.
Sheesh- I swore I wasn't going to comment too much on the school board elections. I thought the choices would be easy for people. I forget that many don't pay attention, and I also forget about Walton County politics.;-)

Nothing is easy during election season in Walton County.
I actually planned to lay low and not care too much this time as 2008 kicked my butt and I already know the 2012 elections will likely cause me to require medication. But old habits are hard to break.

She is expressing concern but her voting record is one that is actually increasing taxes. But again, people pay little attention to what is going on, and listen to the rhetoric instead.

Probably just another RINO. She is an incumbent so I did not plan to vote for her anyways. Same goes for Barnhill. What do you know about Leddon and Sunday? That is like the mystery race.
SoWal Insider
Does anyone have any thoughts on Zane Sunday?
Beach Fanatic
He is retired from the school system and served either one or two terms as superintendent. One, I think.
I worked with Ms. Leddon 20-something years ago. She's a sharp cookie.
Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong in this race.

She didn't seem to have much experience in education. Did I miss something?

She has as much as I would have if I were to run, and you have to have a balance. Of course, Zane has many years of administrative experience and, despite being cousins with my spouse, would do a good job too. Like I said, hard to go wrong here.

I would say that is a plus, get away from professionals scratching each other's back and have someone who looks for common sense solutions to issues.

Mr. Sunday is a good man but I think you maybe right. He was defeated when he ran for a second term as Superintendent. Also, with 30 + years in the system--I don't think he will be looking out for "us" the taxpayers.
