SoWal is an amazing place and has such wonderful people living and working here. I think we need a thread to be able to say "thanks" to people whose actions make our lives just a bit easier, go over-and-above the call of duty, contribute to improving the quality of life here, or whatever you think deserves some public mention!

I will start - I have a few...

A HUGE Thanks to Buddy Wright in the Walton County planning office. I was pulling a temp event permit, and did not know the time frame involved, and had a crazy schedule on the day I was attempting to make this permit happen. Buddy went out of his way and helped me out- and was super-nice to boot. So THANK YOU BUDDY!

Thank you Seaside Repertory Theatre staff, volunteers, and board members who work so hard and are so great. And thanks to all the old and new friends who stopped by the Rep's table at the Seaside Yard Sale- you are all the best!

Thank you to the new SWHS principal- David Preast. You "get it", and the school has great energy and spirit this year.

These days I am thankful that Obama Appointed Feinberg and GCCF to take over for BP and put up 20 Billion. At least so far.

Thanks to all the farmers and volunteers and organizers who have built up the Seaside Farmer's Market. It has blossomed into a wonderful weekly opportunity for locals and visitors to buy great fresh local food, plants, seeds, sprouts, and more; to visit with old friends and make new ones; to enjoy a great breakfast special from Raw & Juicy's guest chefs; and just get outside and enjoy this wonderful community.

Thanks Jen, Arix, Christin, Robert, Chandra, Eric, Jordan, Renee, Charles, Shueh-Mei, Anne, Lois, and everyone else whose names I don't know or can't think of at the moment!

I second that one! The nutritional content of my diet has increased dramatically since the Farmer's Market came to town!

I am thankful for all of my children and grandchildren. They are keeping me from growing old. I am also thankful that the sun rises every day and sets every night. That means that the cycle of life continues. In the next 3 to 4 months, depending on delivery I will have a new grandson and a new great grand daughter.
me too. Congratulations on your newbies! What joy at my nephew's wedding this weekend to see my 94 year old Mama and five great grandchildren...romping around.

Ditto Susan. These are the types of people I was thinking about when I started this thread- people, businesses, or groups who are making a difference in SoWal in a big or little way.

I have a long list as do others I am sure, and it has been an uncertain summer for many here- so at least we can throw a little gratitude their way!

absolutely! of course we need to express our appreciation in person whenever we can, but this thread helps us all to remember and to think about so many wonderful people who literally make South Walton what it is.

I'm loving the love being spread to those who have worked hard to make a real difference, even when things are difficult.

Thank you, God, for putting a lot of nice people in such a nice place....and for giving me patience for putting up with the few sh*%birds who do their level best to attempt to make me temporarily forget the good folks as they seek the end of my patience via their petulance, self-importance, and demand for attention.

John Farmer and Yellowfin. Mom loves riding to the new location on the east side of Eastern Lake. Of course she would probably ride to Destin to visit John- I thank him for being so sweet and taking care of a snowbird and her trike.;-)

I am grateful for all the men and women who serve in our military; who deploy to faraway places and live (and sometimes die) in an effort to keep the United States safe. Their willingness to serve and their courage is awesome. I am grateful that they know what it means to believe in a cause greater than oneself. I am also grateful to the families of all the members of the military--sometimes, their burden is even greater than that of the one who is deployed.

Thanks to Seaside for being what I consider the heart of 30A.

The theater, the school, the shops, the market, the special events, the fabulous places to eat and most importantly the people of Seaside that make being there always like coming home.

thanks to Kurt for being so kind regarding my ignorant posts, thanks to the folks at the Santa Rosa Pharmacy who are never rude about our sudden issues and the calls from our doc at home, thanks to the Publix at Water Color , where the people who are just nice every day, thanks to the new airport people who are exceptionally cordial to those who have crutches and are otherwise handicapped, thanks to our condo folks who keep our grounds just glistening, it goes on and on! Thanks to the precious little blond waitress at Angelina's who never thinks we are too late, or the waiter a Seagrove Market who turns off the fan for the elderly, or the girl from the Seaside Resp who wants our grandchildren to have to the wonderful seasonal shirts, we just love you all silently and from a distance.

Thanks to Capt. Larry who made two little fellows quite happy on a recent fishing trip. Was a long anticipated adventure for them, made for good memories.

Thank you Jenifer Kuntz and Raw & Juicy for "holding down the corner" in Seaside. That corner just feels good with that Airstream there.

I was feeling a little peckish (OK I was STARVING) earlier, and needed to eat some good food. So my friend and I ordered it ALL- spring rolls, black beans and rice, the hummus wrap, and my favorite- the sesame noodles- to see if we could eat it all. We had to stop at the wrap and that is now my dinner.

I guess what I am really thanking Jen for is not judging us when we ordered enough food for 4 people.
